- Kevin Feige Talks Guardians of the Galaxy, The Avengers & The Sub-Mariner

IGN: Finally, there were rumours circulating awhile back that Universal and Legendary Pictures were developing a Sub-Mariner movie, but there was also some confusion about who holds the rights to the character. So could Legendary make that movie at this point?

Feige: No.

IGN: So if a film were to happen it would be you guys making it?

Feige: Yes, but it’s slightly more complicated than that. Let’s put it this way – there are entanglements that make it less easy. There are older contracts that still involve other parties that mean we need to work things out before we move forward on it. As opposed to an Iron Man or any of the Avengers or any of the other Marvel characters where we could just put them in.

This is a preeeetty tenuous Avengers link, but we've probably got enough Marvel superhero threads going without adding one for a Sub-Mariner movie that may never get made [If someone else wants to - go for it]. Still, for fans of the character, that's some damn exciting (and long awaited) clarification. There's hope for The Invaders yet!

- 21 Characters Who Need To Attend The ‘Avengers’ Party

Speaking of the wider world of the movies -- fun little article bouncing off recent pics. Cool to see James "Rhodey" Rhodes getting a guernsey in Avengers 2!

- AGE OF ULTRON Introduces New Members Of The Avengers, But [SPOILERS]? [SPOILERS]

Spoilers: (Highlight to reveal)
One of the great things about The Avengers is that the team is always changing. In fact Avengers #16 had Captain America replace the entire original Avengers team (of which he isn't even a member! He was introduced in Avengers #4!) with new members. The Avengers have always been mutable.

And so it shall be on film. At the end of Age of Ultron Cap will assemble a team that is a mix of familiar and new faces, leading forward into Phase Three. It's an exciting mission statement for Marvel Studios, letting audiences know that the Avengers team is more than just the guys who were in the first film. The make-up of that team is, technically, up in the air until that scene is shot (I suspect it's being saved for either scheduled reshoots or will be snuck into the schedule of Captain America 3, which goes before cameras early next year), but Joss Whedon's script did indicate who would be on that team. I won't reveal all the names - and some have changed in between drafts, by the way - but one character who has always been in this new team is Captain Marvel.

- Captain America 3’s Chris Evans: "Don’t Take My Job From Me Prematurely"

Evans added, “I’m sure it’ll happen at some point, all good things have to come to an end. But I’m really happy playing the character, and I’m honored to be a part of the Marvel Universe for now.”

- "Avengers: Age of Ultron" Concept Art Details The Vision's Look

io9 has posted a new piece of concept art for "Avengers: Age of Ultron," and it's a big one -- the closest and most detailed look of The Vision revealed to the public so far. Complete with traditional green, red and yellow coloring and a flowing cape, the Marvel Cinematic Universe version of The Vision appears to have a lot in common with his comic book counterpart. According to io9, the image originally contained a Sideshow watermark, implying that it came from Sideshow Collectibles, a company that has partnered with Marvel on numerous statues and collectibles.

- First Official "Avengers: Age of Ultron" Plot Details Released

Marvel Studios presents “Avengers: Age of Ultron,” the epic follow-up to the biggest Super Hero movie of all time. When Tony Stark tries to jumpstart a dormant peacekeeping program, things go awry and Earth’s Mightiest Heroes, including Iron Man, Captain America, Thor, The Incredible Hulk, Black Widow and Hawkeye, are put to the ultimate test as the fate of the planet hangs in the balance. As the villainous Ultron emerges, it is up to The Avengers to stop him from enacting his terrible plans, and soon uneasy alliances and unexpected action pave the way for an epic and unique global adventure.

Marvel’s “Avengers: Age of Ultron” stars Robert Downey Jr., who returns as Iron Man, along with Chris Evans as Captain America, Chris Hemsworth as Thor and Mark Ruffalo as The Hulk. Together with Scarlett Johansson as Black Widow and Jeremy Renner as Hawkeye, and with the additional support of Samuel L. Jackson as Nick Fury and Cobie Smulders as Agent Maria Hill, the team must reassemble to defeat James Spader as Ultron, a terrifying technological villain hell-bent on human extinction. Along the way, they confront two mysterious and powerful newcomers, Wanda Maximoff, played by Elizabeth Olsen, and Pietro Maximoff, played by Aaron Taylor-Johnson, and meet an old friend in a new form when Paul Bettany becomes Vision.

- Robert Downey Jr. confirms Iron Man 4 is in the works

Robert Downey Jr. has confirmed that Iron Man 4 is currently in the Marvel pipeline, with Ellen DeGeneres pressing him for a definitive answer during a filmed interview.

“I know there’s going to be more Marvel movies, and they have big ideas of how to do it best,” said Downey Jr., when the host raised the question. “We’re in the middle of negotiations, blah blah blah.”

However, DeGeneres wouldn’t accept that as an answer, and when pressed as to whether that translated as a simple “yes”, Downey Jr. relented, replying, “okay, yes.”

UPDATE: Talking to David Letterman, RDJ clarified: “There’s no plans for an Iron Man 4. There’s no script for Iron Man 4, but they do have a plan and I think they’re gonna announce it. You know, [Marvel's] very secretive about it.” With Letterman pursuing a firm answer the Iron Man 4 angle, Downey Jr. responded, “just between us, no, but I’m gonna do other stuff with Marvel. I’m still going to be involved with Marvel and there’s gonna be plenty of fun stuff to happen.”

Notes about a rumored Agents of SHIELD cameo, too.

- Marvel's making big plans beyond 'Avengers 3,' and it's making Hollywood crazy

Over the weekend, Devin Faraci ran a piece about the possible shape of "Avengers 3" over at Badass Digest, and like Devin, there are things I've been hearing for a while now that have me wondering what the Marvel Universe looks like in five years. It won't be the Marvel Universe we know right now, but it will be richer and weirder and much much larger. I think many fans assumed that we'd get to the James Bond moment at some point soon where they have to just start recasting the key roles like Tony Stark or Captain America or Thor, but I think Marvel is reluctant to start down that road.

Instead, it seems like they're focused on cultivating new members of the Marvel family while figuring out the best way to deploy those contractual obligations they've still got pending. It's like an elaborate narrative chess game, and the advantage Marvel has is that they know where all these things are heading. They have long-range plans for the world that have been building now for ten movies and that are nowhere near their final pay-off yet. That's sort of remarkable and unprecedented. That's what I mean when I say everyone else is going to have to play Marvel's game. They've got to start thinking bigger.

Sony, on the other hand, may be doing things the opposite way. While I can't get the confirmations I need to verify the story, I'm hearing that there are some very cool "Spider-Man" plans being discussed that would help Sony refocus their enormously important franchise while also opening up some connections in the onscreen Marvel movie universe that would blow fandom's minds. Will it work out? I don't know. I would love to be able to state for sure that it's happening. What seems clear from what I've heard is that Marvel wants to be able to play with all of their characters, and if they can make that work creatively and on a corporate level, they will, and that means the world gets bigger again.

Pretty interesting!

- Avengers: Age of Ultron Teaser Trailer to Debut on Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.

The first trailer for Marvel's Avengers: Age of Ultron will debut on next week's episode of Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., Marvel Studios announced today.

The teaser trailer for Avengers 2 will debut next Tuesday, October 28, at 9/8c on ABC.

Attendees at this past summer's San Diego Comic-Con were treated to an extended sizzle reel for the Joss Whedon-directed sequel, so if the trailer includes any of that footage then fans should not be disappointed.

- "Avengers: Age of Ultron" Trailer Leaks Online

MovieWeb has posted the leaked trailer for Marvel's "Avengers: Age of Ultron." The trailer matches up with descriptions of footage shown during Comic-Con International 2014, with narration by James Spader as Ultron and featuring appearances by Tony Stark (Robert Downey, Jr.), Bruce Banner (Mark Ruffalo), Captain America (Chris Evans), Thor (Chris Hemsworth), Black Widow (Scarlett Johansson), Hawkeye (Jeremy Renner), Quicksilver (Aaron Taylor-Johnson), Scarlet Witch (Elizabeth Olsen) and more.

The leaked version of the trailer is likely an international version, given the indication of an April release. ("Avengers: Age of Ultron" is slated for a May 1, 2015 debut in the U.S.) Not only does the trailer give a good look at how Spader will likely be portraying Ultron, but it also gives a glimpse at the Hulkbuster armor and many other tidbits to expect in the anticipated sequel.

This is the first movie trailer since at least a decade that actually gave me goosebumps. In just a few lines, Ultron is already the most menacing villain yet in the MCU.

Also: Could Andy Serkis be Klaw? Black Panther does feel like it's getting close...

Oh there's no doubt he's Klaw. Maybe Captain America gets a new vibranium shield while they are in Wakanda? The movie did shoot in South Africa at one point.

I hate to be "that one guy" who always has something negative to say, because I really do like the trailer and am excited for the movie, but does anyone else think Spader's voice sounds too "human"?

Like in the final shot where we get to see fully-upgraded Ultron and his mouth is moving while he talks, it doesn't really sound/look to me like the voice is coming from the robot, it sounds like a man offscreen is talking. Just seems like it could use more of a filter to make it sound synthetic.
Maybe it'll seem like a nitpick to other people, I'm just afraid it'll be distracting and take me out of the movie like watching a lipsync that doesn't quite match up.

lol, nah man I am right there with you. When they showed him in his final form I felt like I was actually looking at Spader, like they used motion capture or something. And that is not how I picture Ultron to sound or act at all. He's like a wanna be Heath Ledger's Joker turned into a transformer. I'm hoping that his lines were made for the teaser/trailer and thats why they just seem kinda off. Pumped for the movie though, April and May feel sooooo far away.
