So this fall we're getting two FPS' and I was just wondering what your opinions were on these two.
this year i think I will be buying BattleField due to it looking like the much superior game. The game just looks awesome, the graphics look great and the sound effects are amazing. Also it looks like much more skill will be needed to play this game than CoD as you don't need to hold the R1 button.
Modern Warfare 3 just looks like the same recycled game which adds nothing new to the franchise and therefore is why I won't be getting this bag of poo.

I think Battlefield will be the better choice as it adds more variety and will take much longer to get at then CoD. (i have a 3.6 kd on BO)

I'll be getting both because you know, I want to enjoy the best of both worlds.

The quick, instant action of COD and the strategic, gourgeous gameplay of Battlefield.

I'll probably rent Modern Warfare 3 for it's campaign, and then get pressured into buying Battlefield 3 by my brother who absolutely worships it. I like both equally: MW for its action movie-style story and Battlefield for it's gameplay.

I am going to get Modern Warfare 3 and have FUN with it... something that all battlefield games can't provide and don't say I never gave them a shot either. Bad Company 2 was horrible, and I played it for hours to satisfy friends who needed someone to fill a team.

There's just so many great games coming out! Assassins creed revelations is definitely the first to buy on my list aswell as the MGS HD collection and Uncharted 3! Definitely one of the best years in gaming since 2008.

World at War was arguably the last good call of duty game, however when I look back the gameplay is essentially the same since I played it as a launch title for 360.

I participated the Alpha for battlefield 3 and I can attest to its far superior quality, both over CoD and over Bad Company 2. Hell I was going to start a countdown thread at some point.

I've been a CoD fan for years, but to me the series itself is just going stale, so I'm leaning more towards Battlefield 3 even though I have both reserved along with Gears 3 console bundle, Skyrim, Uncharted 3, Dead Island, Saints Row the Third, Rage, Assassins Creed: Revelation, Resistence 3, GoW origins collection, and a few other things.

I'm going with battlefield this year. It looks like the better game, and the early previews of MW3 sound very unimpressed as well. Most previews say the game is nothing more than MW2, with bigger , yet uninspiring set pieces.

Of course if reviews for MW3 do turn out to be good, I may get MW3 as well, but there are a lot of other games come out this fall I want to play (Gears of War 3, Arkham City, Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim, Forza 4), and I already know I'm not going to have time with school & work for all of them as it is.

CoD a d battlefield are two different beasts.

CoD is more of an arcade, fast paced shooter, where battlefield is a strategic teambased game.

That said, I'd generally lean towards CoD, but I'm gonna hold off on getting it. Lots of other amazing games coming out.

Gears3, dead island, resident evil operation racoon city (I know it's a drastic change from the games roots, but four college kids playing it will make for some great nights) batman ac, silent hill downpour....

Shit. Im gonna be in my dorm alllllll semester.

Being a solo PC gamer has its advantages, I don't have to worry about finances because I'm not touching the good console games anyway.

Already pre-ordered BF3, I'll check out MW3 a while after it's released, I'l look for a used copy on the internet somewhere when it's < $20.

BF3's gameplay looks incredible, MW3 looks the same as Black Ops, which was the same as MW2, which was a more casual version of MW. MW's campaign mode is intriguing though, so I'll mainly pick it up for that.

Though Bungie tried to turn Halo into CoD when they made Reach and I really hope that 343 makes it so Halo 4 is nothing like Reach. Basically, give me H3's weaponry and balance combined with H2-quality maps and I'll be in heaven.
