This idea was actually toted around when there was just 1 forum, and every man and his dog posted whatever piece of bullshit he wanted to.

Today, not much has changed, and there is absolutely no way that the idea that sparked this thread would be implemented.

It is simply too difficult. Who would these new mods be? How would they be chosen? What type of counselling would be provided to prevent them from going beserk with a machete when they recieve 14,000 PM's a day whinging that their threads did not make the cut?

Despite the fact I read about 1 thread out of every 20 I see posted in the forums, I just don't think this is a practical idea. Those of us who contribute intelligently do get annoyed at the amount of crap that is posted, but, it's something you learn to deal with. The most important skill of all here is patience. After reading some of the posts here, I feel like walking over to whatever country the post came from and castrating the Capt Brilliant who created it. Not only is this illegal, but if I did the next best thing and flamed every idiot who made such a post I'd end up with 15,000 skulls next to my name and be out of here quicker than you could say 'Toasty'.

My point: People are stupid. Deal with it.

I disagree. Conversation isn't always intelligent so why should we designate other topics over something that wouldn't interest a brick. Equality in the community would be tarnished for those not clever or witty enough for others.
