I'm sure majority of you have heard or seen this horrific incident that happened earlier today in Boston. For those of you who haven't been aware, two explosions happened during mid-race at a marathon held in Boston. Over a hundred has been critically injured and two have been reported dead. One of them is an eight-year-old.

Police officials, as of now, declare this as a terrorist attack. No news as of who is responsible for this. There were reports saying that there have been other bombs and suspicious packages placed in trash cans that have been found by officers as well. There is also a "person in interest" currently in the hospital.

^All of this is just what I've been reading on the live updates. If anyone else knows any more information, feel free to post it... As well as your thoughts.

I just have no words.

Yeah it is terrible what happened here in Massachusetts at the Boston Marathon. I actually had several friends in the area, but lucky they are all safe. There was also a third explosion at the JFK Library, that is located on my college campus. They are unsure if its related, and the campus has been closed as a precaution

I've been watching the news for the past several hours. I've seen two different reports, one that a 20 year old Saudi national was being question for suspicious behavior. There was also another report of a swat team surrounding someone who had a backpack and black trenchcoat and looked suspicious.

It's been pretty crazy.
[edit]: Found this picture floating around my network on facebook of the after math of the explosions. Pretty graphic: Boston Marathon - Aftermath

It's just horrific to think this country could be turning into the middle east with such mindless crimes against humanity.

So 130 are injured, 3 are dead, this is going down as an act of terror. Even though people dying in general is never a pleasant thing whatsoever, I'm a bit relieved that the death toll isn't significantly high. However, my thoughts and prayers definitely go to everyone down there, and hope that officials do their best to find the asshole(s) responsible for this tragic event.

Yes, it could had been much higher had the other two devices actually went off. Both of them where actually directly across the street from where the two expositions did occur. One of them being right under the grand stands.

What's even more sickening about the whole incident is that, that last mile of the race was dedicated to the Sandy Hook victims, and apparently some of the victims relatives were in the crowd as well.

Oh great, the Sandy Hook Truthers/Idiots are going to say it was done by the government to silence them.

It really hit home for me cause i lived there 4 years, i am very familiar with the area and when i saw the pictures of the streets covered in blood and body parts i felt sick. All my closest friends still live in Boston and I was lucky because no one i know was injured.

I believe I am completely allowed to give my prayers to those i Boston on behalf of Ohio, and hope all has been done, and that justice will be served.

On my accout, I have heard 140 injured, 17 (at leas) in critical, and 3 dead. The youngest person injured is a 2-year old, not in critical.

I'm so tired of the media exessively using the word "terror" to identify this event.

The people in this country have got enough fear and worry installed in them from this bombing, the shootings in Colorado and Connecticut, the said threats from North Korea, and the everlasting emotional impact from the destruction of the Twin Towers on September 11, 2001.

What the people in this nation need isn't a reason to remain scared or angry; they need the strength to live happily in the midths of a tragedy, and to continue living happily long afterwards.

If only we can come together without having a bunch of people die first...

I thought I'd give another update. It seems things are definitely hitting a little closer to home, with this whole tragedy. The second victim who died was actually from my city, and while I don't know her personally a number of my friends actually went to school with her and one friend actually lives right down the street from her parents house.

It just angers me at how senseless this act of violence was. I really hope and pray that they find the POS(s) who did this and make them pay, unfortunately from all the media coverage, I get the impression that the police and investigators are no closer to finding the person(s) responsible.

What I hate most about something like this is the waiting... No suspects, no leads as to who's involved is somewhat annoying. People are saying it's Muslim terrorists, others thinking it's some Right-Wing Extremists, I just want the SOB brought to justice already.
People are so quick to blame the Muslims. There was terrorism before 9/11.

I get the impression this is more of a 90's McVeigh/Kazinski, old school pipe bomb style attack.

It's still "Terrorism".

Here is another update.

Just been crazy the past 6-12 hours here in Boston. An MIT security officer was shot last night responding to a disturbance, cops and Feds chase the suspects to Watertown, apparently it's the suspects from the marathon bombing on Monday. Some kind of explosive was thrown at cops as they tried to arrest one of the suspects. One is dead, the other is still on the run. All public transportation is shutdown for the day, and law enforcement is asking residents of 4 different cities to stay home and lock themselves in their house for the day.

Just absolutely insane and surreal right now.

I remember reading a 4Chan post or something somewhere where somebody made all these claims about how this was all going to go down. They said it'd happen Friday. I wish that I could find that post again. I don't remember who posted it. I thought it was m0s3pH on the facebook.

The way those reporters treated those boys' uncle on the news today was just fucked up.

And they had the nerve to question why he was so upset.

Yeah it is. They canceled all public transportation and cab services in the city as well. I actually work at one of the number of universities here in the Boston area, and as soon as I got into work this morning my boss actually sent me home because they closed the campus and I'm considered non-essential. Even though campus isn't near the area they are looking for this guy. Its insane.

I feel like the manhunt for this kid is bigger than the manhunt was for that cop killer in CA a few months ago. He has absolutely no regard for anyone or anything. His rap sheet so far:

-Boston Marathon bombing (killed 3, wounded 170+)
-Shot and killed an MIT security guard
-Multiple car jacking
-Shootout with police (injured at least one transit oficer)
-Threw an explosive at the police
[edit]: Update: The guys finally been captured. He was hiding out in a boat in someones backyard.

I for one, am very happy that the police did everything they could to end the terror. It's very disappointing to hear that someone had to die from the shooting (The MIT officer, that is). However, I hope I'm not the only one that thinks there's going to be more issues that rises up from this. I can't really say what will happen, I just have a gut feeling that despite that the terror is over, something more is just going to happen. Nothing like, more killings and such, just, how we react towards this and how to move on from it. Are we going to find a way to have strict rules and such because of the bombings? That kind of stuff...

Justice is done.
It shouldn't take the worst of times to bring out the best in people.

I remember during the news coverage, I forget who said it, but they said "We don't run"

You do run.

Though malicious try to MAKE you run, out of fear, or for your life...

You CHOOSE to run.

You choose to run towards the danger...

You choose to run to the aide of your fellow man...

And you choose to run for charity, in a marathon.
