Please, now that school is coming to an end, I have decided to work out during the summer to make my body better. I am 12 years old and weigh about 120 pounds, and have limited supplies to work with, is there any tips anyone could give me? What about supplements? Is creatine bad for me? I'm not the most popular kid, so I'll probably have lots of time to spend.... thanks... and If you are going to reply, please be constructive... thanks

First off, dont use Creatine... it sux... if u dont work out a lot with it, it turns to fat... at ur age u dont need to be taking any supplements, maybe protein shakes but thats it... it all depends on what kind of look ur going for... as for me ive been a bodybuilder for 12 years now but that might now be what u want, but if it is i can give u a lot of tips...

Man, first of all don't work out on trying to be cool and show off in front of people, do it for yourself. I've seen too many people who started off scrawny and when they gained some muscle they were full of themselves.

Okay, here's some tips.. First of all give your muscles at least a day to rest after each work out session. If you work out everyday you won't give your muscles time to expand and you will be stronger but It woulden't show as much.

Always work in Reps, pick as many times to lift and the weight you lift. If you want more muscle lift heavy weight untill you start feeling tired. When you are finished with your first set, rest a little then start over again untill you finish your whole set. If you want toning and feninment, like being ripped, lift light weight but as many times as you can untill you can't lift any more. Work in long reps untill you finish your set.

Also, make a plan for yourself, it's really good that you set up what you are doing before you actually do it, you could try lifting weights up with no plan at all, but you would see more results with one.

I never took any suppliments for myself, Trust me I gained almost 20 pounds of just muscle by just lifting weights and eating food after a good work out. My friend took Creatin and it worked okay from him, but to me, it lacks self confidence.

If you really want to gain muscle devote yourself to it and don't make up excuses on why you can't. If you want to do it for the girls, think about what you want to look like and have that drive you your whole time while you lift, If you are tired of taking shit from stronger kids that will motivate you to extremes, trust me, I started off at the same weight as you but a year later and I gained alot of muscle and toning, and I am close on being what I want to be. It's also good to find a work out buddy to help you out while benching for a good spot. If you want to learn some good work outs ask what part of the body you want done and I'll try and help out.

Basically what Grizzle said, if you want to tone up then use Light weights, more reps, fewer sets. If you want to gain more muscle, Heavy weights, less reps, more sets. It's best to keep a regular schedule aswell, try doing upper body one day, lower body the next. Don't wear yourself out, do as much as you can handle, you'll be needing the energy the next day. I work out everyday except sunday, but if you're a beginner you can try every other day. If you're planning on running or doing any type of aerobics just remember to stretch before and after your sessions, cool down a bit too. The last thing you want to do after a tough work out is sit down, you need to cool down walk it off. Drink plenty of fluids to keep you hydrated, and good luck smile

I'll give you my work out tips:

You should do 3 sets of push ups everyday. For each set do it 10 times. If your arms get soar take a break for a day or untill your arms get better.

Sit ups:^^^same as push ups.

If you had weights I could give you even more help. But for a subsitute you can fill two Milk bottles(the big ones)with water and use that to lift. Here you go:

Weight Lifting:

Curls:You begin this exercise with having your arms down near your wrist. Then slowly bring the Weights or in this case Milk Bottles to your chest. Then slowly go all the way back to your hips.I usually do 3 sets.Try 2 sets to see if you like it.

Bench Press:If you don't have a bench your a bed but make sure the matress is soft. This is like push ups on your back. You take the milk bottles and push them upward while your laying on your back. Then bring them back down again to your chest. This exercise should get your chest bigger.

Always do a 10-20 minute walk or run to get your heart rate up before you do anything with strengthening your muscles.

masturbation is good.

nah really, cheap way to get in shape. Run, long distance running. start small and increase at your own pace.

Find out what type of muscle you have, type 1 or type 2 then go with a workout accordingly.

Weights?
Start when you're in middle school and you'll be getting ladies in high school.

yeah start lifting weights in middle school and you'll be one fo those buff short guys...

Engage in a sport... prefferably soccer or basketball a sport where you're constantly moving... that way you'll gain lean muscle...

and awesome excersice is jumprope which will give you all sorts of benefits but mostly cardio, push ups should be done with the arms as far as possible first then move your hands closer to the other until you meet in the middle those are hardest by the time you do that you'd have targeted all your upper body...do sit-ups immidiately followed by crunches then leg lifs, it's a six pack in no time... if your neighborhood had a weoght room use dumbells and do small sets, don't bench so soon into ur life...

Do not start by benching car engines. Especially not by benching them from underneath. Especially not having it bolted in a car and having your buddies release the last bolt. Very Messy.

push ups...do alot of push ups, and work out as often as possible, but be sure to give your self rest and dont do the same thing repeatedly EX - if you do arm curl 3 sets at 10 one day, the next day you do curls, do lighter weight and more reps, or you could hold the rep for a set time with light weight, also your only 12 so you should probly wait till your about 14 or so before you start on stuff like, or you coul just do push ups, also things like creatine and anything like that is shit and never works, also do not listen to any diets (atkins especially) so goodluck.

Well don't stress yourself on weights since your still growing and you may get stretch marks. I am 17 and I am very skinny. I do work out every day but I don't go crazy on the weights and I honestly rarely bench. Instead, I curl mostly, squat, do situps/pushups, run the stairs or treadmill, and do boxing or my own madeup ugly fom of martial arts for excercise. I love the results. At your age I would recommend more excercise and low weights instead of trying to max it. That's how I started.
my advice to you is simple, don't worry so much about your body. sure, its good to start working out early, but getting stronger won't make you cool. you should just get involved with a sport. that way you get to know more people and help your body at the same time. i suggest basketball, there's a lot of running around and its not all that difficult once you get the basic skills. that or soccer. also, stop caring about your place in school, don't take anything seriously, and don't be afriad to make fun of yourself. otherwise make a few friends and expect your life for what it is.

oh, and if that doesn't work then go to steroids. lots and lots of steroids. jk

REAL Martial Arts are an exellent way to get in shape. You won't get big muscles, but rather lean, and strong ones. When i started, i weighed 45 kg (sorry, i don't know pounds.) at the age of twelve, and 2 years later i was like 58 kg. I'm 15 now, but i can't really train right now, cause the area is crawling with McDojo's (KILL!!!!)
But really, at 12, you should probably not get into lifting too heavy shit yet, you have like maybe 8 years of growing up to do still.

Good luck!!

Ps: if you're gonna take steroids, pump it directly into the blood and think of the Hulk. JK
