Being one of the first in a long line of fans waiting for a RE2 Remake in the fashion the original received. I can\t help but get all soft and gooey when I see anything that hints at the possibility. The question was raised at Capcom's RE panel during TGS and they did not shoot it down. Not exactly a confirmation, but keeping the hopes alive for the oldschool fans who would KILL for this game.

With SlantSix Games making "RE: Operation Raccoon CIty" which honestly looks amazing, the RE4HD, RECVXHD, RE: Revelations. It is safe to say this is a huge year to be a Resident Evil fan. The only minus (not necessarily) was the heavily rumoured RE6 ths announcement not coming to pass only with a very good fan-made trailer based in Thunder Bay Ontario Canada.

So with all mention of anything new nowhere in sight, Capcom posts this on the Resident Evil facebook page:

"We're almost to 1.5 Million fans. Here's a tiny fraction of what we're working on for a reward to the loyal!"



This single image shocked a great majority of those who were paying attention. Almost stopped my heart completely and kicked into motion one of the fastest growing hype-fests in Resident Evil history.

My immediate reaction was "William Birkin" pictured below as this clearly appeared to be a claw, and with the rich red colour, is quickly assumed as William:

If that image and all the "re2 omfg" comments were not enough. The opposing parties claiming it was a licker claw certainly did not help the impatient RE2 fans. Regardless, both guesses suggested RE2 in some capacity.

And then this cast all doubt right out the window...

"Just about 40,000 more fans until we reach 1.5 Million! Here's another "slice" of what we're cooking up for you."


My opinion:
-Image looks like Williams arm and even shape of the top of the shoulder.
-Image looks like IF it was William, the arm is in perfect position for a render where he is centered.
-I see an eye where the shoulder would be

I'm convinced. Now lets just hope this is a real RE2 remake. If not, this will be the biggest shutdown of this theory/hope yet and leave thousands, perhaps a million, in heartbreak.

Either way, we find out when the facebook page reaches 1.5 million. Currently 40,000 more needed. So get on thsi guys. Spread the word. A few minutes of my time to write this is worth even a few more followers. Please take the time out and share this through facebook, twitter etc.
