That's because it's based off the ORIGINAL Cat Woman, i.e. the comic book version, not the one from Batman.

The original Comic Book Catwoman comes FROM Batman. I assume you mean "Not the one from the Batman movie?" Which, too late, they are going to mention that Catwoman in the movie as well. And they are also going to mention Batman. How do I know? It's in the movie-based novel.

Even though they are claiming it to be based upon the original DC comics character, it has nothing to do with her.

The basic story is about a girl who dies and is resurrected by the Goddess Bast and given special cat powers.

That has nothing to do with the comic Catwoman. They also claim that there are one of nine 'catwomen' in the world, it's basically their way of trying to stire the comic book fans from tearing it to shreds which they are doing anyway.

I don't really understand why they decided to make it so different from the comic book. Imagine if they made a Batman movie about a Mexican race driver who dies and gets brought back to life by a mystical bat god who gives him super bat powers which he uses to fight crime while wearing a shredded black leotard and a bicycle helmet. It'd be a piece of shit, just as I suspect Catwoman will be.

I haven't seen it, so I guess it could still be good, but it'll be hard to get past the raping of the comics, the ridiculous costume, the lame dialogue as seen in the previews, and the fact that the whole thing looks like a blatantly cheap attempt to rake in cash from people who'll go see anything with superheroes and/or Halle Berry's cleavage.

CINO will most definately bomb.this movie is just a pisspoor excuse to have halle dress like a half naked dominatrix.this movie has nothing to do with catwoman other than the name itself.

I do like all ur opinions but why do some people get so pissed when halle berry wears a tight leather suit or people think that there makin the movie just because they want to see halle wearin sumthin tight.... First of all for me is i like this movie cause halle is my favorite actress and it looks cool to her act in my favorite kind of movie, action...

Both are going to fucking suck.

Catwoman is supposed to be a villain, she is so sexy when she is bad. Halle Berry is a good actor but she signed on to a poor excuse for a movie. I like the idea of her as Catwoman but I have feelings that this movie is going to get crapped on. Michelle Pheifer was the best Catwoman IMO.

I think that playing Catwoman is either a hit or miss proposition. I think that the character is so difficult to play that if she doesn't hit get it right, then the movie will fail. I felt the same way when Batman Returns came out, but Piffer pulled it off. I'm not making any judgements until the film comes out!

Of course the dialogue will be hammed up. Should we be expecting Shakespeare to come from Hollywood?

AND! Batman wasn't that Batman from the comics either. Actually, Batman the movie took a BIG departure from the comic version in the way that in the movie, Batman used gus. In the comics, Batman vowed never to use the same weapons that killed his parents. Why do you think he dedicated himself in the study of the sciences and deductive reasoning.?

Comic book movies are always difficult to make because they deal with a lot of backround mythology that can't all be used or incorporated, as well as a generally rabid fanbase who will start foaming at the mouth at its slightest flaw.

I'll see it, who cares.

Well HB's catwoman looks like an updated version of her from the batman movie(s) and/or comics but without Batman and a different storyline, its basicly about Halle killing someone that killed her before she changed into catwoman and i like that alot cause i didnt really like batman at all...

Damn, I was really expecting that guy in the pictures (Standing next to halle berry) to be Batman, I'm extremely upset they didn't put Batman in the movie. FUCK!
