computer has spyware and virus on it. PLEASE help me out !!!

Hey guys/gals

Would anyone be so kind as to direct me to a link or site which offers free downloads to get rid of spyware and viruses, normally I would try and buy the programs I need, however I am as poor as a church mouse and rely heavely on ebay to make money, my computer is freezing up, slowing down and shutting down..I am not sure what to do...please please please, someone help me out here. Thank you in advance.

Heh, I'm having the same prob. I have had a little luck. I'm not an expert, but I'll try to give you some advice.
For the spyware, go to google, and search for Spybot. It is a free program you can download. Also look for Ad-aware by Lavasoft. That is free to.
For virus scanners, I have 3 online links:
http://www.pandasoftware.com/activescan
http://vil.nai.com/vil/stinger/ (have to DL stinger)
http://housecall.trendmicro.com/housecall/start_corp.asp

I use Spybot but the best of the best even in technical reviews is Spy Sweeper, there is a free trial but it finds way way more than Ad Aware and Spybot combined.
