Hey if you just want to post DBZ sucks... don't post... anyway.. For anyone who has seen the original japanese version of Dragonball Z/GT you'll notice the music is greatly altered, the dialoge is messed with(cursing taken out, ventriloquism, on tv violence and nudity taken out, and in some cases the voice acting sucks) so which version doyou prefer... Funimation/American or Original Japanese? I prefer the original and getting used to subtitles on the DVDs isn't that entirely bad.... thoughts?

Censorship sucks...long live Mr. Satan!

Besides, Goku sounds much better with his high-pitched voice.

I personally like both versions...but if I had to choose one I'd pick the original.
i've never seen any of the japanese so i'll have to say the american. and by the way i have seen an american one that had nudity in it. master roshi was looking at a dirty magazine and it showed the pics. don't remember what episode it was though.

Definitly the orig... when DBZ reached the Buu saga in Japan I was had already seen them all up till then, then a few months later i got them... as soon as GT was released in Japan i got them to... so the English versions came a long quite awhile after i already had the originals ones, so i didnt pick up on the English one much cause of the censorship...

BTW, the dvds and vhs versions show the nudity and violence, u just have to put it on english subtitles to hear the orig music and see what they really say...

however one episode on cartoon network left the word piss in... when Dende summons the dragon during the Frieza saga he says dont piss off the dragon... thats the only thing on tv that ive seen to come close to what the orig had...

I prefer the original version, but I cant stand Gokus voice. They shouldnt have kept it the same form DB. I would have liked to have the English voices, but with no censorship. Sadly, that is only a dream for America........

I perfer the american voices and music to be honest. I've seen every episode of american and japan and my decision stands. I just like the american DBZ and DB better. And I just plain out don't like GT.

I kinda feel the same way redsoul, but the fact that it had to be censored is what pissed me off. As for the music, Funimation DBZ seems to have a more up to date feel.....

I dont like how they censored everything, or most things. I'd love it with the swearing and everything. Voice wise, the american voices are better, but the japanese dialoque and everything else is way better.

Original Japanese. In my opinion 98% of all anime is better in it's original uncut Japanese. There are a few exceptions where the American is just as good (Cowboy Bebop), or rarly better (Goldenboy). Much like most people I know DB was the first anime I got into. I still consider myself a fan of DB/Z (I hated GT), but like every anime fan I eventually grew up and out of DBZ and moved on to better animes.

i always enjoy japanese version of these things whenever there is... subtitles rule although i am not entirely sure if the subtitles are accurate as well. then again, hearing their real voices is still always a treat.
