The thing about Superman is he has so many powers and so few weaknesses it's hard for me to take him seriously. A person with such perfection is extremely boring. There's several characters from Marvel that would take Superman out rather quickly.

He just is. It's been mentioned in dozens of comics and it's come up in the TV shows.
It's possible that Doom could beat Superman with preparation and planning, but in a one on one fight Superman would probably win though thanks largely to superior speed and strength.

I agree, with Superman it's just SO difficult to find something that can go up against him. HE's got all the Powers together (strength, heat and X-ray vision, invulerability, speed, power breath) are there others I forget. He only has one weakness. I always wished they'd come up with new weaknesses or stronger villains..........urgh anyway just wanted to agree.

The Kingpin vs Lex Luthor: 2 millionaire/criminals... both bald (at least Lex was at one time) it'd be cool to see how these guys pulled strings to try and get at one another. In a scrap, Wilson Fisk would win hands down

Batman vs The Punisher: both are dark and brooding vigilantes whose families were killed by criminals. Both have no superpowers. Punisher would be more brutal in a hand to hand fight, but I think the world's greatest detective would have the upperhand here (plus he's a freaking billionaire)

Flash vs Quicksilver: personally i'd pick Flash

Vision vs Martian Manhunter: caped, kinda human guys that can become intangible... and they're bald

Hmm I dunno whether I should be proud of my geek status or incredibly embarassed. Well I guess in a pinch I could do well in a tv trivia game for money. I know way too much worthless info.

The Kingpin vs Lex Luthor- In a fight, Kingpin. Otherwise, Luthor would just make a warrant for arrest and death sentence for Kingpin "appear."

Thor vs Superman: Thor's magic power gives him an edge and he's a born warrior. However, they did fight recently in JLA/Avengers and Superman won.

Doomsday vs the Hulk: Madder Hulk gets, stronger he gets. And I think Superman can beat the shit out of Doomsday with ease now, so I say Hulk.

Steel vs Iron Man: Iron Man because he has more experience, and I think a mor epowerful suit.

Supergirl vs Rogue- Key to Rogue's victory would be absorbing Supergirl's power. Otherwise, I think Supergirl has more power and can take more damage.

Black Cat vs Catwoman: I say Catwoman. More experience and I think she's the better fighter.

Nightwing vs Bullseye- Tough fight, but I think Nightwing would take it. Unless Bullseye just snipered him.

Batman vs The Punisher: Batman, Yes Punisher is a brutal fighter...but Batman's technique is more refined, precise. So Punisher's brash, blind violence stlye would actually be his undoing in this fight.

Flash vs Quicksilver: I say Quicksilver can take Flash...though this is just opinion for me, nothing to back it up really...because they are both practically the same.

Vision vs Martian Manhunter: LOL..answered this one before...Martian Manhunter, he just has too many powers for Vision to contend with. They share the ability to phase or become Super Dense..but MM can do so much more..Telepathic abilities, heat vision, ability to morph into virtually any life form...including some pretty impressive monsters from his home planet. Vision would fall!

She-hulk vs Wonderwoman: This Fight Is a female version of the Batman/Punisher Fight. Wonder Woman = Batman, She-Hulk = Punisher -- Diana wins.

Also it depends on which version of Felicia we're talking about too. Is it the one who had all of the grace and agility of a real cat? With that ability to form her hands and feet into claws? Or is it Felica with her original power which was over luck (people who attacked her were prone to bizarre accidents as a result...but in either case i still say Black Cat.

Lobo vs Logan (Wolverine): Wolvie...doesn't matter which version...'nuff said.

Don't get me started on Spawn. I was a fan since the begining and I'm now buying the Hellspawn spin off. Spawn will take on ANY body in Marvel, DC, Capcom, whatever and he'd just slaughter them. He's got the powers of Hell itself backing him, plus he's practically invincible and immortal. If he can take on a leagion of hellspawn, I'm pretty sure he could make Super Man cry like a little girl.LOL
BTW I have the Spawn vs Batman comic. Spawn won.(DUH) He's got the most twisted and agonizing history of anybody. Plus he doesn't hold back when it comes to killing someone. His cape can beat any super hero.

As for killing Superman. I've been thinking about this and I have an idea. Inject him with liquid kryptonite. It will course through his body killing him slowly and painfully.

I'm pretty sure Taz made this thread about marvel and DC characters fighting and seeing who would win,not who is the better planner or the smarter character. Its about how good the character is at fighting and how they use their advantages during combat.

Dr.Doom is a cool villain, but he cant fight for shit. The only reason he's a good villain is cause he's a mastermind at making traps and deceiving his enemies. Otherwise he'd get his ass beat by a 12 year old girl. Doom just cant fight hand to hand...and when he's about to fight, he always runs away

And besides...villains always lose anyway...its just how it is in comic books

So, it's fighting without using powers of any kind? If that were the case Batman would take out everybody. Ok, I just read over the first post. Powers are allowed. Characters like Batman and Dr. Doom would already know their opponents weakness before a fight and they would be readily prepared. These characters study their opponents. That's who they are. I doubt Doom would be willing to take on Superman fist for fist. He'd use what he's good at and that's magic. Something that Superman's vulnerable to.

I have the Frank Miller McFarlane one. They both gave each other a pretty good beating. I didn't like that art in the other one. Too sloppy looking, but it had a better story.

I said that they use their powers to their advantage during combat....Doom cant do shit in combat. Doom has good traps...but you act like Superman has no brain and cant get around traps and avoid them.

No, I respect your oppinion on the matter. I don't think Superman is mindless but he isn't very smart. He has the intelligence of an average human but in the land of comics, that doesn't get you very far. Superman has a plethora of powers that make him look unbeatable but I feel Marvel exploits DC's characters. While I might be fond of Doom, he does get his ass kicked constantly in the Marvel universe but I feel that just makes Marvel's heroes look more dominating.

Look at Marvel's villians and DC's villians. Most of the better known Marvel villians seem unbeatable but yet their heroes always pull through. Outside of Darkseid, I don't feel DC has worthy opponents for their heroes. That makes their heroes look weak in my oppinion.

I feel the best fight for Superman would be against Silver Surfer. That'd be an incredible match up.

DC villains kinda suck

I don't know if this counts but Doom is pretty sick in Marvel vs Capcom 2. HIs Nebula shield and Doom grab are really helpful. He doesn't have any "super" powers but he uses technology as a handicap. Just like Iron Man, who is just sick in the new Marvel Mangas. He has some jet wings and a plasma sabre, giving him a bit of a samurai look.
