Do you believe in Karma?
Do you believe in Karma?

I've been leading a good life for all of these years, and have only done a few bad things, and my life has been generally good. I believe though, since there have been times that my life was pretty bad.

Definitely.
I got plenty of examples, but the one I'd most like to share is what happened with my FIRST gf:
We had been dating for about 8 and a half months. She met this older guy, and I immediately noticed something weird while she was talking to me about him. Being completely in love (and trusting her 110%), I didn't pay much attention to it.
So anyways, she suddenly told me that she wanted to break up with me 'cause she didn't love me anymore (when she had LITERALLY told me the night before that she loved me more than anything) and had felt this way for about 2 weeks (coincidentally -not- she had known this guy for 2 weeks). So basically, she dumped me for him.
What happened later on, you ask? The guy dumped her for another girl.

Nope. Everybody has ups, and everybody has downs regardless of who they are.

To an extent yes. I treat everyone with the exact same amount of respect and courtesy. But if that courtesy is abused or if the person turns out to be a total asshole I'll through karma out the window and treat the like shit.
This is probably why those who know me either really like me or really hate me. There is no middle ground.

As a supernatural force? Not really. I don't believe causality is guided a moral consciousness aimed at distributing justice. Punishment for bad deeds and reward for good, in most cases, are the result of natural human response. In cases like the one MKS described, where the justice clearly wasn't a direct response to a particular wrong, I would attribute that to the saying that "misery loves company," in that a shallow, fickle girl may be inclined to be attracted to a shallow, fickle guy.

yes i do, everything in life comes full circle why shouldnt luck be it good or bad? Funny eh, an irish catholic believing an eastern doctrine, it wouldn't be so funny if you had experienced some of the shit i or many other people have had the misfortune of going through. Karma does exist under many different names, wrath of god, will of god, luck, chance but regardless of the name you have chosen to give it it is there and there is no denying the fact. It is an intangible factor in life, if time exists which it does then why not karma, they are basically both intangible forces. But if i get deeper into this line of thought it will become somewhat relgious so i am gonna stop now....

I got the green-light from Crow for this thread as long as there aren't religious references, so please be careful with what you say.

You asked a question, I gave an answer and a reason. Besides I have no intent on trying to dabate karma or anything.

Hmmm...Karma. Well to me Karma is more like "What goes around comes around."

Stay classy, MKO.

No I don't.
And um, this is religious. This will be going pretty quick. Should already have been nipped in the bud...

Karma as in reaping what you sow in this lifetime? No. People can lie, cheat, and steal their way into fortune in this lifetime, so karma can't really exist as far as I can see.
I do, however, believe that you will be made to reap what you sow at some point.

Yep.
You wanna example? When i was 9(I'm 16 now), i moved with my mom to southern Sweden(And yes, i'm French). Don't, and i mean it, ask why. From there on, violence, mobbing, and racial discriminations where part of my life. I was beat up, spit on, and kicked at for 5 YEARS. Where does Karma come in? 6th year, i changed, irreversibly. They were violent, i became even more violent. They beat me up, i beat them up. They tried to stab me, i smashed they're face in with a hockey stick.
Bad things happen to bad people. They were bad people, i made bad things happen to them. Karma. Sort of.
In general, i believe in Karma. The few that were good to me, have good things happening to them now. Personally, i moved to northern Sweden, and now, i have real friends, and a normal life.
Now maybe in my next life i'll manage to get a girlfriend.

You saying that what she did to me was bullshit or that my story's bullshit, as in, made up?
