Or do you think that there is a hidden power locked within? A capacity to evolve further into something superhuman? Belief in 'chi' energy, dormant energy inside a person's very soul, has led to such grand theories as teleportation, fireballs, flight, and even immortality. Do you believe there is any validity in those beliefs, or are they nothing but human desires to go beyond the borders man is bound by? Fatality.

well if man only uses 30% of the brain and we do extrodenary things as it is like nukes they may be devastating but just think and what could the other 70% of our minds hold it may be superhuman abilities or it may just be nothing but space

Well, I don't believe in the "chi" per say, but I do think that anything with a soul is capable of... well, anything.

I also believe in something along those lines. And like someone else pointed out, we are not even close to using our full brain capacity, so who knows what we could unlock in the future.
If you had 100% power over your brain, rather than the 30% we use (Roughly). You most probably could master Telekinesis or something like that, that uses the brain to the fullest

I thought it was way less then 30%. But anyway if we were capable to use 50% (not positive what %) of our brain we wouldnt need our bodies. Just think how powerful humans can become, if we dont end the world.

Yea I thought it was only 10%.

I would have to agree that if we could use the full potential of our minds we would be capable of incredible things, but one thing I sincerely hope we're capable of is knowing what's good for ourselves, our species, and our world.

Our problem isn't knowing if we CAN do something... the problem is learning whether or not we SHOULD do it.

Telepathy, telekinesis, control over time, matter... all of that sounds very far-fetched, but... how do we know what we as people are truly capable of? If someone reached the full potential of their brain power, what would they do? If you had such power, would you also have the understanding and wisdom to use it accordingly? Fatality.

Of course not, were only human.
Edit-check out the movie Sphere(sp?). It shows what people do with power.

Of course, at the level humanity is at now, no one would use that kind of power properly. I think it would take millions of years for humans to obtain the wisdon and discipline to control themselves.

Well if we only use a small percentatge of our minds, who knows what we could be capable of if we used 100%. While I do think that the brain works together I heard that the left and the right sides do diffeent things, like when you dream the right side of your mind does most of the work. Also a while back there was a report that suggested that people who speak mandarin chinese use both sides of their brains, while english speakers only use one side. I do belive that humans are capable of amazing feats but the question is are we ready?

I believe the human brain can accomplish these amazing feats through much training and hard work but, this probably won't happen for maybe another 500 years or so. If and when humans discover they are capable of this, I think only a few will actually acquire these powers, but I think we would be ready for the responsibility and gift of these amazing feats.

I've heard it was only 10% also. I believe that telekinises (sp?) will be achieved by humans one day. I mean today we only use 10-30% of our brain's capability, but when humans were in a more de-evolved monkey state they probably were using much less than that. So if human evolution continues at the same rate, in the not too distant future, there's no telling what humans could be capable of (positively or negatively.) Expansion to inhabit our Solar System should be achieved by 2500, by 3000 we could have the abitlity to travel to the distant ends of the universe. Human's are far from what they will be IMO, and if this is it, as far as we'll go - well, if our purpose on this Earth was to act the way we do, something (God/supernatural force) must have screwed up grande...

Maybe but I think it all depends on Faith.Just do it don't even think about it.It's like if your in a boxing match you only concreate on winning and you forget all of diffrent boxing methods.Your mind is the most powerful object you have control over.

That's why I like to understand people and see where their coming from.I look at both sides before I judge.I try to put myself in there shoes.

Humans using only 10% of their brains is bullshit. Humans use 100% of their minds, duh.

I don't believe in any of that.

One thing is for sure, we are not so far different from our ansestors. Humans desire power, and power is what most seek. Wars are fought over power and superiority, look at other species on Earth.

To mate, most primitave mammals battle to claim their mates and pass on their genes. I think we have passed on a little bit from that fact but I still think that there is a primitive side in all humans.

Anger, Rage, Adranaline, Instincts, all of that is within us, and it is also in most Earth creatures, if not all. The difference of humans between all of the other types of beings on this Earth is that we have more brain capacity and the skill of technology, It has been like that ever since the first primeape picked up a stick and used it against another. We mastered the technique of fire and learned new skills to over come the much bigger species on this Earth. That is why we are s o much more superior than the other species on this planet.

When it comes down to it, we are nothing but flesh and bone, I don't believe our minds will alter any of those aspects of our body. The thing that drives us and makes us not vegetables are nerves, electrons and other chemicals in our bodies that balance out and work in different functions.

Humans have basically the same kind of chemical compositions, that is why we are all alike, there is some different qualifications to different kinds of people, that is why we have handicapped and different looking people. Our body is composed of all different kinds of codes of DNA which is passed down from our parents, just like a primative being.

Being able to fly, altering your physical appearance has already been acomplished by our minds already. If anything we have already mastered the foundations of the Earth, We could control fire, earth, thunder, wind, water, and other elements with our inventions and machines .

No Man will stagnate and Women shall take over the world Mwha ha ha ha...*cough*cough* Sorry, couldn't resist. grin

Anyways there is more than enough room and potential for improvement. Unfortunately the main goad for evolution or growth is survival. The Human Race as a whole has it way to easy now. There is little or no drive for survival of the species since we are literally at the top. With an exception of a few major germs and ourselves there is nothing that threatens our survival. I know some may hate me for this due to personal beliefs, but anyone must admit without some challenges we as a species can not grow.

Personally I think that we have a long way to go and if we don't kill ourselves we may achieve greatness. I think we will tap into our Mental abilities more, sexuality will go away and everyone will be bi or at least love everyone and we'll be moving planets, we're killing this one.

This is something that will blow your mind and change your whole perspective on the world but this is my theory...

Picture the Earth as one big cell, and all the planets are cells revolving around a Nucleus which would be the sun.

We are microscopic specs on this Earth and I think Humans are like a virus, all we are doing is destorying and eating away at the planet. We kill all things to devour it for ourselves. As it was said before Humans are the best resource users this planet had ever seen.

I believe in the end, we are either going to wipe ourselves out and flush ourselves out of the Universes system or we destroy the Earth and move on to other planets.
