If Avril thinks her music is even alightly "dark", it already shows she has no idea about music. A quick theory lesson that probably wont mean anything to anybody and wont even get read -

Writing in a major key sounds happy and upbeat, writing in a minor key (especially if you use a harmonic minor note here or there) sounds sad (minor) or just plain eerie/evil (harmonic minor). Avril writes happy major key music, so there's already no hope it sounds "dark" or anything. Granted, I've only heard 1 or 2 songs, not even the whole way through since I have taste, but I can't see her writing stuff in minor keys unless it's some slow depressing type thing. And even then, there's a huge diff between music sounding sad and music sounding dark/eerie.

She's a popstar writing typical and boring upbeat pop music. If she thinks otherwise she's the same as one of those kids who runs around screaming "I'M A GOTH BECUZ I LISTEN 2 SLIPKNOT AND KORN!!!!", a complete poser who didn't do their research before labeling themselves something they aren't.

English might not be your first language but...I'm assuming the title of the thread was supposed to be: "Does Avril Lavign know she makes upbeat music?" but then in the post you say something like "I know she's cute but does she make deep music"? or somthing to that effect.
