The whole taboo over homosexuality is completely blown out of proportion. At least to me, it's a non-issue. You may as well be chastising people because their hair/eyes are a different color, or they like a certain type of music or a color that you don't.

We sit here and talk about how individuality and being different is supposedly a good thing and should be promoted, then this whole bullshit happens where we condemn those who we deem as TOO different. It makes no sense to me.

I feel like we are all taking steps towards breaking away from our Puritan founders (I don't even know how historically accurate that is). Maybe after the baby boomer generation dies out, the open minded people will be able to outvote the closed minded ones. Or maybe conservatives will always stay in office. Who knows, the South is a scary place.
