It's just the whole, "we're sleeping together and don't believe we're going to Hell since we're not married," kind of issue.
That and we're not taking him mainly because my family has pretty much accepted the fact that he might be family to us soon. We're inviting him out of the kindness/friendliness and good will since my mom told me this is basically his Christmas/graduation present if he does come.
Those are the two issues, we got the financial stuff covered, we said that we'll pay for his entire trip the only thing he has to do is bring spending money, he can pay us back if he wants to. But those are the two issues at the moment that I am dealing with as long as the school he'll be student teaching will not start up fairly early.
Because last year, I was told they went back on January 3rd. Yikes!

Alright, well I dont know how this is going to work for you, it depends on the christian you are dealing with and political stance and what-not but the best advice I can offer is this:
Jesus never said that his people should force any belief upon others. Merely to preach and to try to show others the "truths" behind the Gospel. Jesus commands that his people "Do harm to no Man" and as such that includes harassing non believers or the unorthodox into following him or the laws of the bible.
In short, remind people that pester you about this, that even under Christianity you were given free will, and Christ's followers are supposed to respect your decisions and not bother you about your life decisions. It is disrespectful and against God's law in Christianity. Remind them that if they are christian, they should act like it and leave you be if you decide to go another way.

Well I guess that's not entirely accurate, there are 4 different types of theism.
Nostic Atheist/Theist: Absolutely believes and considers it fact that there either is a God(s) or is no God(s)
Agnostic Atheist/Theist: Believe that there is/ is no god(s) but are open to the possibility they may be wrong.
I am an Agnostic Atheist. I do not believe there is a God or higher power, there is absolutely zero evidence to prove there is. However knowing for sure either way is beyond human technology. So if you want to be technical: I dont believe in god but strictly speaking, there is no way anyone could say one way or the other.
Why did I become Atheist? Well lets just say I left church because it was boring. Later I stopped being christian altogether simply because it was wrong, God was always contradicting himself and in a few ways here and there so was Jesus. Then I discovered Science and realized that all the gods out there are just made up. If there really is a God out there, it probably has better things to do than pay attention to a bunch of microbes on a speck of dust in the middle of nowhere. If It exists. We have no way of knowing it because it is simply that far beyond us as a species.
Thanks for the help, if things start getting sketchy with the conversation I'll be sure to mention stuff about this.
I am a Catholic and I believe all that they believe, but I am just not heavy into religion nor is her son.
But thank you very much.

I try, the thing is you already know the rules and all, to constantly pester you about it is a sin, plain and simple. Try to be nice about it of course.
When it comes to religion I only debate it when thats the point of a topic. Otherwise I simply hold people to their beliefs. You either act like what you say you are or you do not.

i dont see how god or jesus ever contradicted himself
and also there may not be like a 100% to prove there is god
but I guess its just about having faith
and u said there is a god why would he care about people or earth i mean he made man he made the earth, i mean maybe he didnt just wanna sit there, what do u mean better things then wanting to spend time with his creations
just like a parent wants a relationship with their child which is like their creation, same thing with god, im not very good at analogies so idk
but anyways whatever
in the end really its up to everyone and what they want to believe
but i just cant accept that we are on this earth and living for no reason
on another note this week is kinda depressing
and also that was some good lasagna or lasagne i have no clue how to spell it im still hungry cause
IMA BEAST

Life isn't about obeying an invisible man either. Everyone chooses what their life is about. It's up to you, not some book; there will be fun, there will be work, everyone has a life like that, it's all about what you want out of it. I am also a Colbertheist for example.

I didn't say that. It's just more enjoyable to believe there's little consequences. You start to make choices you never would before. You experience things you were always to afraid to experience. More importantly, it makes you realize that the point to life is to believe there's a point to life. Because there is no point. Then you feel so smart it will make your head spin.

No. It's ... veered to the right. At least on my laptop as well.

Exactly, and even if life had a point, the point would be to live, that's it.
When I became an Atheist the only thing I felt was freedom.

So... I was told by someone who always has to critique my life and everything I do with it, wrong again becuase of what I did at Six Flags earlier this summer...
You see, I'm sure that majority of you guys are aware I'm diagnosed with Syncope, a condition that I have that makes me pass out due to various things. Well, my mom told me that Six Flags basically has something for people who have medical issues/wheelchair people and all that to where it makes them access rides easier. They cannot question your condition.
So, I take an advantage of that with my condition and me and my boyfriend got on rides extremely faster than any other person. Despite that some people were looking at us weird by entering the ride by the ride's exit, still, I got on rides faster than those who waited... I am also claustrophobic as well and it was very hot and humid that day.
So my boyfriend jokes and said that he'll most definitely take advantage of this and I laughed. And, if we're lucky enough to get him to Disney World with us, of course all six people (with me included) will get on rides faster... or however Disney handles situations like that.
But she thought this was wrong somehow... If Six Flags has passes for people with medical issues and cannot question whether or not it's fake because if you have the proof right there who needs to prove anything, then I'm going to take their offer and get the pass. She somehow just finds this terribly wrong and no one that I've talked to finds it wrong...
Okay... Haha

If you don't care then why did you bring it up?
Describing my lifestyle when asked about it is not the same thing as trying to convince you to live as I do. I never said you should do this or that.
Becoming an Atheist requires thinking. Being religious only requires that you follow the thinking of the people (or if you prefer, "God") who wrote down your chosen belief system. (In this particular case the bible).
With a response like that one, I would say that you have already taken this personally yourself, don't look at me buddy.

And not to mention, it was brought up after you said you were an Atheist all due to a question you said you wouldn't mind answering because of your past views.
So, Undiscovered, you can't just throw out the whole, "I don't care," line because you did care, though because a conversation went into a direction you probably didn't want it to go into, you think it'll all end by saying those three words... Also to add, you did the same thing in of the the threads that you made. And becuase people went totally antsy, you said you didn't care anymore... Well, if you didn't care then why ask the question? People have different views of stuff and you can't get upset about it or whatever because they're views are different than yours... And that's totally what I'm seeing from you.
