I love the first Silent Hill film. Can't wait for the second. I hope it isn't disappointing. The 3D scares me. Not fearful of horror. Fearful that the movie isn't good quality so they just tacked on 3D to be trendy and hip and appeal to dumb crowds and make lots of cash on a lackluster film.

Both Silent Hill movies are gonna be crappy. I mean, the first one is like a collaboration of stuff and slapped together and put pyramid head in there to make it have the title Silent Hill. The 2nd movie is supposed to be the 3rd game made movie but for something fucking reason, Pyramid Head is in it. Christ, they just can't leave him out. He wasn't even in the 3rd game. I'm pissed .

All expectations for a remotely passable Silent Hill movie have been Great Knife'd by Pyramid Head.
Bet there's gonna be some more inappropriate nurses and lying figures meandering around...When they don't relate to the central character at all!
Alessa must've been one fucked-up and hyper-sexual little girl to have dreamed up both Pyramid Head and the scantily-clad Bubble Head nurse for all to deal with...

Well, that wasn’t what I expected for Father Vincent. But Heather looks good. I’m curious how Sean Bean will portray both Chris Da Silva and Harry Mason. I’m also curious as to how Malcolm McDowell will play Leonard Wolf. But I’ll with hold any real judgement until at least a trailer is released.

I didn't play the Silent Hill games, so clearly I'm out of the loop. But I'm just confused as to why people get so frustrated that ... pretty much what has become the icon of the Silent Hill series ... (Pyramid Head) is in the movies?

Like. Weren't you the same people who thought what the fuck when Ryu and Ken were missing from the Street Fighter movie?

It's about to storm BIG TIME over here. Fine by me, I love the rain. Maybe I'll put my son to sleep early tonight and just vibe out to some tunes while playing old school FF Tactics for the PS1.

Pyramid Head is only from Silent Hill 2, and relates only to the protagonist of that game. He may be an icon of the series, but that doesn't change the fact that none of the other characters besides James (and Maria, for a very good reason) should be seeing him.
He's part of James's subconscious, trying to make him remember something important. Other characters in SH2 absolutely cannot see him, nor interact with him, as he does not relate to any of their thoughts or fears.

Unless the movie is about James, Pyramid Head should not be in it, Lying figures should not be in it, and sexy-garbed Bubble head nurses should not be in it. They're catered to James's subconscious.

Silent Hill 1 and 3 have to do with Alessa's mind. That's why nurses have faces, aren't scantily clad, and lots of the enemies appear burned, child-like, or come from her childhood fears. Pyramid Head does not correspond with her.
All games past SH4 were made by the non-Japanese, non-Team Silent crew who fucked it up and put inappropriate enemies in the games, just because they think of Pyramid Head and nurses when it comes to Silent Hill as a series.
Christophe Gans misinterpreted enemies as well, and mixed them all together haphazardly, without considering that the movie has only to do with Alessa, not James and his sexual and violent demons.
James isn't even in the damn movie, so Pyramid Head absolutely cannot be there.
