Oh, you meant Pocahontas in Space instead of Avatar right?
I hated that movie so much...
The only thing I loved about it was the animation, since I'm working in that field. I'll admit, I loved the animation of it, but everything else... No.
The story couldn't have been so unoriginal. Bad guy wants Pandora, Pandora is inhabitant by other creatures, good guy working for bad guy suddenly changes heart and saves the creatures and Pandora. Good guy falls in love with the alien.
Radcliffe wanted the land, land was inhabitant by Indians, John Smith, who's working with Radcliffe turns on them and helps Pocahontas out. John Smith also falls in love with Pocahontas.
It would have scored points with me if the story hadn't had already happened. I admire movies with their animation works (if any) and their story. And if it's something that I can easily tell that already happened just changed, then I can't appreciate it. It's like seeing it in a different style.
Maybe it's just that I'm a sucker for original story. It's a hard thing at times to think of when you want to write a story that hasn't happened.

Everything has been done all ready. Everything is inspired from earlier works. You can make conclusions connecting anything from the past to anything from current times. I just think that's a silly thing to get bent out of shape about.
At least you admired the animation. I feel like a minority when I say I didn't even go see then movie in 3D I watched in on my laptop, and I loved the film for its plot and characters (except for Michelle Rodriguez I get bored of her always being the same exact person in every film she's in, but hey I guess that's why they cast her) instead of the animation.

If it helps, I haven't seen it in 3D either, but regardless of that it's still a great film.

while correct, original works are also mostly new even if inspired.
Avatar is more than that, its Dances in Space, near direct plot copy. at the end of the day I consider it plagiarism, even if I like it better than the original.
Well, yeah, pretty much everything has been done. But just everyone made it seem that is was THE movie, that it was so original, so out of this world that when I went to see it at the Imax in 3D, and that's one heck of a screen to see it in, I was just not even remotely interested in it at all.
And yeah, it had one of my favorite actresses, Sigourney Weaver in it, but I just didn't like her and for some reason I felt she was out of place in it. All those other actors I've really never seen it.
And surprisingly, at the school I go to, in which Avatar used most of its equipment since several professors were so gladly to tell us during class one day, not too many liked it either.
I'm not going to say it's a horrible movie and it sucked ass becuase it's not a horrible movie and it didn't suck ass. I just didn't truly enjoy it becuase I just felt that it was too slow moving, the story wasn't original, and I wasn't enjoying my time watching it. But that's just me, and I'm very picky, VERY picky about movies.

I dont think it's being picky at all. Avatar was more of a theme park ride than a movie to me. The guys over at redlettermedia disect and explain it better than I can however. I'll say this much, it looked incredible in theatre 3D.

James Cameron Avatar sucks.
Most anime Sucks.
Xanadu tomorrow. Can't wait.
Well Disney is going to be having Avatar be some sort of ride at Disney World when the new section of Magic Kingdom opens.
My dad and I were trying to see if we could spot it over the wall but we couldn't see anything but this one castle.
Fantasy Land...

I have never seen Avatar (the movie) as it doesn't interest me in the least, but The Last Airbender (the show) was extremely awesome.

Avatar: The Last Airbender is the only TV show that captured me on almost nearly the same level MLP:FiM did.

Avatar was a great experience
To hell with the storyline
That is not why its great and really im tired of hearing it
That's the only complaint ive heard
oh the story is predictable
Ok true
But whatever, that's not the point, it was so fucking engaging and gorgeous, and epic.

i'm excited for The Legend of Korra, even though I'm disappointed only one is apparently alive.
Thanks to spoilers/leaks, I learned cool stuffz about the original series(The Promis graphic novel) and Korra.
The show is amazing.
Azula is my favorite, and I wonder how she's been in that insane asylum, but she's supposed to be in The Promise somewhere... so yay.
Azulon, Ozai, and Katara suck donkey dick.

If you saw the final four episodes and called that boring, then I'd have to bitch slap an old lady.
Despite that I never saw it from the beginning, the Last Air Bender was a great show on Nickelodeon. One of the last good shows before that network went downhill.
I mean really, that network really went downhill and the midnight showing of all the old shows isn't helping it either.
