Watching MK Legacy again. I love the actor portraying as Sonya. She isn't the most beautiful of women, but she still is beautiful, kinda like how I have always imagined Sonya. Sonya isn't a woman who cares about beauty. Leave that for the otherworldly Edenians. She's a tough woman, a fighter, who doesn't rely on her looks.

When people complain about her "manly" features or her just not being beautiful enough, they ignore the fact that every woman doesn't HAVE to be perfectly beautiful. Some women have manly features and if any woman in MK should have a few, it would definately be Sonya. She's a mortal woman, she's human, she can have flaws in appearance and not strive to be what people believe is "perfection".

Just wanted to throw that out there. ^^

I agree that Sonya doesn't have to be perfect but I'd have preferred a younger one for (Kano) eye candy.

For instance yes. She's gotten better roles since then however, so she could be more expensive today. Hollywood has probably hundreds of young blonde women so there's a wide range to choose from.

I think they did great with this one. She has experience and she was very believable as Sonya, imo. Picking someone younger and less experienced would have hurt that.

I saw too that they were probably seeking for an experienced and renowned actress this time, as Sonya is more than just a sideshow in this series. Perhaps having an older actress was intentional to have her appearance be a publicity stunt coevally, raising people's eyebrows. But that's just marketing.

I think Jeri Ryan was perfect for Sonya in MK Legacy. I'm glad it was her and NOT a young blonde. I've always seen Sonya as an experienced, seasoned, impulsive woman.

A girl I graduated high school with died of a heroin overdose. Didn't know her well at all, but it's still really sad.
