I was just really into the comics. There was just so much stuff that Teen Titans had but never really showed too much of it. Slade was their number one enemy, but even Slade had things too that were left out, such as his daughter, the Ravager. There's a lot more to Raven's past than just her being a portal for her father to enter Earth, as well as the relationship she and Beast Boy have in the comics. Brother Blood was also changed completely...

Ugh, so much potential and it ended in a sucky manner. Maybe the show could have another chance at a reboot or something. Always have my fingers crossed for that.

Teen Titans is coming back, but it's not the same show. The new show will be called Teen Titans Go! and will not carry any of the story left over from Teen Titans. It's more focused on comedy. Ironically, it will have all the original voice actors.

What I remember from the comics, if anything, is that Starfire was the only adult in the group, and she was also their leader.

I also remember Beast Boy dying.

So, I'm in a new band project with my brother being the leader.

Let's hope he doesn't run off to New York like the last one.

In other news, I may be directing a music video for a metal band that has a lot of connections... I've been slowly making nice with them for a while, and finally, they were like

"You could come and record with us one day"

I think it's also that element of the snake eating its own tail. A vast majority of things that are 'now' are wholely derivative, or at least cannibalizing the past. It's also the people receiving from the suits, who are from the people. There's an element of culturally eating our own puke. Which is an analogy that lends itself to then supposing a resulting derivative, less nutritious byproduct, created by gag reflex alone, again and again. Whether or not you go that far, though, is probably going to be subject to personal experience and opinion. If you do, maybe the apocalypse is in vogue because on some subconscious level we're living it. Culturally, maybe we're the zombies, devouring ourselves. Post-modernism with debilitating rickets and a head injury.

Ironic that the superheroes have helped bring us to this point, given their history as a hyper-reflective serial pulp medium. I'd probably consider them one of the last entertainment fortresses to fall, in conjunction with the same increased corporate stake. WB buying DC was a pretty good thing, giving them backing without much interference. Now the movies run the comics and you might say it's a battery farm, where it used to be free-range. That's obviously a generalized view, though.

I live in hope that our adjustments in technology and process eventually lead the world back to some of the truths of previous generations of media and entertainment. Or, failing that, that we burn through existing culture so quickly, we have no choice but to learn the lessons over again. Granted, that's a broad and dramatic way of putting it.

The minute I heard it was going to be focused on comedy I lost interest. The original show did a fair amount of comedy by itself, did we really need an entirely new show based on comedy? It was a good show. I'm saddened they decided not to reboot it.

Well, Cartoon Network has a lot of goofy shows as of lately. I really don't think we needed another comedy but... I'll see where it goes, it's probably not going to be anywhere near how good Teen Titans were.

Kinda heard some maddening news at dinner just now.

My mom was telling me a story about this girl I went to school with. Real piece of work. She wrote, "Karma's a bitch" about a girl who died in a car crash all because I guess those two had some fight thing going on. Anyways, this girl just had a baby, she's about a year older than me. I know her boyfriend a little bit and he's the father of her kid. She didn't sign his name on the birth certificate. Always on and off. But the real shady thing she did was she admitted that she cheated on him AS soon as she and her boyfriend at the time came back from Florida.

This guy is about to graduate from college, already has a job in line, so he's not some crummy ol' bum... Same age as her too. The guy she cheated on with... some 30 year old working at a grocery store.

Why do people do that? Especially when there's children involved? I don't... quite get that.

Yea well it is the reaction you'd deserve. If it is your best friend what response would you want to hear other than "yes". It is just wanting the attention from him.

My cousin's funeral was today. He was only 30 years old and left a beautiful 16-month year old daughter behind.

He will truly be missed. May he rest in peace.
