I know. I'm aware. The only real difference is that I'd rather not have to talk smack about someone that won't stop talking smack. She, on the other hand, just loves dishing really mean gossip about anyone and everyone under the sun. She enjoys it. I don't.
I don't know if that makes me a better person or not in this situation, but when you hear it day after day, week after week, month after month, it does get a little old, ya know?
Yes, I get your standpoint. Rich people or people in a high position are more likely to be arrogant in their social life. People living in a village with scarce population are more likely to gossip than people living in a city or downtown. I don't personally support gossiping, it is really just a joy of the moment that will fade away leaving bad vibes in the group. One of the few circumstances I allow "gossiping" is if it is two friends talking about the issues of the third friend, but that's not really gossip when it's about friendship and if they mean no harm. Your situation with your boss is unpleasant but not of the worst kind unless she would badmouth you too.
When a man knows he's being wronged and that he should yell right back at his boss, but is afraid to because he fears being fired, then he had just convinced himself that he's a coward and that is one of the worst things you can do to a person. I don't blame a man for keeping his mouth shut in circumstances like that, but he will blame himself, and that is horrible.
