Seriously now, it's not going to help you guys understand why Bronies are being themselves, with that kind of mindset.
To my cool man, Dibula:
I can assure you, there are some people who become Bronies, then fall out and call it a fad. Because it was not something they truly enjoyed. But I do enjoy this show and its characters, and that is enough to not make it a "fad" for me.

Exactly! Hate the people who like the fictional cartoon ponies!

Scratch that. Enjoying thee butterfinger bites with some tea while looking for some new music. Enjoying this band called IN THIS MOMENT. Love em.
Unknown, you misunderstand, friend. Look at it this way.
Ponies IS a fad. A popular trend in this point in time. I'm not saying it sucks and people should hate it. I'm saying it isn't cool.
Look at it this way. James Dean is cool. American muscle cars-pretty cool. Explosions, fight scenes, those are all cool.
Ponies, while enjoyable to some people, will never be considered cool because...well...it's something else entirely.
I may not enjoy ponies, but I wasn't dissing it.

Astronomers have for the first time discovered two alien planets whirling around a pair of stars: a complete solar system with twin suns just like Luke Skywalker's fictional home world Tatooine.

I see your point. Ponies will never be considered cool because it is something of such otherworldiness and defiant of social norms, right?
It does not seem like this fandom revolving around MLP:FiM will disintegrate completely in an expected time, to me. From what I see in some pony sites, this fandom could last about 8 more years, maybe more. Decrease greatly in number after a good amount of time passes, but still exist.
But who knows? Maybe you're right and this fandom will dissipate in due time after the TV show ends. Or this could turn out to be a very miniature and weaker version of the long-lasting Pokemon fandom (excluding the popularity bit). Only way to know is to wait!

I think for the first time in a very long time, I feel really happy.
I have a guy who is in love with me and who I am in love with, I am studying something I really enjoy doing, my economics are balanced, I have great friends and life is just generally being nice to me right now.
Of course as the pessimist I am, I am sure it will come crashing down on me in the nearest future, but I thought I would share this with you guys as you have at times seen the worse side of me.

I wasn't expecting the fandom to come to that.

That's great to see, Raven! Hope that path will be kept up for a good, long while, if not for the rest of your life! =D

The state of being cool is not absolute.
Things die out all the time. Others last a lifetime. No one knows how long the popularity of the show, or Bronies, will last. It could end within the next year, or it could extend as far as the next ten years.

I found out why one of my friends dislikes MLP and Bronies.
He says they're like the flamboyant type gays who flaunt their fandom and are generally outrageous people. I don't think I fit the bill. All I said was "it's pretty good and you should give it a shot". I do, however, have a Rarity pin that is crudely drawn and was given to me as a gift.

A lot of the Bronies I've seen are actually masculine straight men, not to say there aren't any gays who watch the show.
I myself, who's not really either of the three, like the show for its mature concepts and innuendoes, despite being a show originally intended for kids. I do find some elements to he a bit too dark for the show, for example, Nightmare Moon's natural behavior.
Kinda reminds me of HIM, only not as evil.

No, not saying we're homo acting/looking, but have you ever encountered a flamboyant homosexual? A divo, if you will. Like "guurrrrrrl" *z snap*. He means we're like that. Just so ABOUT it.
Like I said though, beyond making references with fellow Bronies and seeing about turning people onto it (but not aggressively), you wouldn't know I were a Brony.
You know what I mean now?

I am masculine and straight... even though i have a weird infatuation with Chris Hemsworth. Idk how to stop it...
anyways i can understand how mlpfim is not cool. It isn't that label. but i do like it. i would label it as a nice television show that many people enjoy because of its clever writing and wits. even though its a kids show, its pretty awesome.

I see what I you mean, we're very big on and we're not shy about showing it.
I think there are folks like that for everything, be it television, books, movies, video games, sports, or anything else out there.
I'm not sure how it measures with MLP, but I'll tell ya' this, we're nothing like those Beliebers.

C'mon, Mortal Kombat was a good movie. The problem is that nobody ever follows the source material and takes it seriously enough beyond trying to make a bunch of money... to say a video game could never make for a good film is a bit silly.

The first MK movie was decent. But did you see the second one? There really aren't any video game movies that are good. Some are passable as decent but none are really anything special.
And don't get me started on the Resident Evil movies...
I think video games should just be video games because I think it's a better storytelling medium. Hollywood pretty much butchers whatever story the game had going for it.
I hear that a God of War movie is planning on being made. I can't wait to see how badly Hollywood fucks that up. Or that they want to make an Uncharted movie. What for? The game looks better than a movie by itself. Same goes for God of War and Metal Gear Solid.
That's not to say all video game movies are bad. I just hate watching a video game movie and the movie ignores everything that made the game great.

I recently downloaded a comic maker app on my phone.
There's a lot of awesome stuff on the app that you can use to make comics, though there could be much more, especially for someone like me.
I made quite a few over the last couple of weeks, not sure how funny they are, though.
Here's one of the comics I made. It features Spiderman, Rogue, and a savage baby bear they apparently have to look after. It's not meant to be canon in any way, so please don't bomb me for it. Tell me what you think.

Again, people are misunderstanding what cool really means. Time has nothing to do with it. See, there is a difference between "cool" and "enjoyable"
Let me break this down into the most simple cliche of social categorization that I can.
A boy is trying to impress a girl who is into "cool" guys. Loads of people like puppies, pretty colors, cotton candy, and bubblegum. Even this girl may enjoy these things. However, you have the kid who makes his hobbies based around lesser known but great music, a personality that is interesting and mysterious yet manly, and is basically all around sophisticated.
(side note-manly is not considered UFC, Bud Light, and Monster trucks. That's a different subject)
Ponies will never be cool because it just....isn't...cool. It may be funny, adorable, lovable, and enjoyable, but it isn't cool.
As far as this fad thing goes, I'd willingly bet money that withing ten years MLP will be just like most of the other shows that earn a huge fandom but evaporate into nothingness. Its name will still be iconic, thanks to the older show and that stupid ass MLP jingle, but remember: until MLP FIM that show was the ass end of jokes for everyone except 6 year old girls.
I'm not saying that to be an asshole, or a debbie downer, or to take away from something you like. I'm saying that because it happens to most cartoons.
Also, Pokemon has survived for so long because it is simply more immersive and has more survival potential than most shows, thanks to the handheld games that offer new experiences and creatures every few years and the fact that it is old enough for several age groups to remember AND appreciate.
MLP is old as well, but not nearly as many people appreciate the older show as the older Pokemon. It was stale and...way too girly.
I see at best MLP ending up as something like Masters of the Universe or Thundercats. Many younger people may end up knowing the name and calling themselves fans, but most of them will have never watched an episode and know what it's even about.
