Did you hear that copies of Resident Evil 6 have been sold already in some country. It was an accident and they are off the shelves now.
What's funny is that I heard about it mere hours before I saw this post.
I could care less though.

Shao Kahn did nothing wrong
Hoping to see who I want to see this time. Especially Stan Lee, Elvira Mistress of the Dark, Tara Strong, and Jessica Nigri.

I could care less though.
I could care less about the graphics.

It makes playing with my younger brother much more fun.
What I did was take certain characters and use their special moves to devise particular patterns and scenarios, making the experience and difficulty that of a boss character.
So far, the characters I've made bosses are Ermac, Kenshi, Sindel, Kung Lao, Cyrax, and Raiden.

I could care less though.
I could care less about the graphics.

I apologize, Mime, for I actually am a grammar crusader. I've disgraced my famuree!

I've been a mortal for so long I'm an oxymoron.

Don't make me laugh! What about Internet Relay Kombat? It just seems every dragon point is given to whatever you happen to want to promote, not individual things made by regular users. The dragon point system is inarguably not just. Why do you promote things with the incentive "You'll get Dragon Points!" if you in the same time blame people for seeking for these "cheap points"? Does it even matter what you believe the users are motivated by, as long as the effort and outcome in the end are the same? For the record, I don't do many things for these Internet points whose value is determined by a web community.
It's all about a strong MKOmmunity. SOTW was cool. Do it because it's cool. If you want to rank up on MKO, you just need to be a part of MKO.
Because it's cool... As in “because you just happen to do it/enjoy it”? Well I'm afraid you can't guide every single user to do the task N for the reason B instead of A, not through Drive By for sure. Trolling is also cool they say.
As for being a part of MKO: I believe I am a part of MKO – to a batshit extent for sure – yet my concern isn't about “What topics grant me DPs?!” but about why in Earth does the dragon point system work as it works now.
It's a rewards system for users. Yes, getting involved in promoted events is something we're happy to reward you for. As noted, points haven't become at all inaccessible (often through these events), but we have adjusted the focus of what's involved, and restored them to a time when they were a bit more significant (or special).
More than that, it's also a punish and control system. But when we're supposed to “do it because it's cool” we don't need these dragon points.
“It's all about a strong MKOmmunity.” Right? At present, points favour activity and exceptional input in a lot of different arenas of the site (not always visibly). This is significantly more even and fair than recent eras. SOTW, which started without points, is nice, but wildly out of proportion when 3 points are going out week after week, year after year, often to the same small handful of users. Points and user ranks are here for everyone, not just people cutting and pasting images into a horizontally inclined banner. Which is something we'd hope everyone wants to do because they want to do it.
I think you mean areas but this “exceptional input/activity” applies almost to every other post, less or more, which is a reason why you can pretty much distribute skulls and dragons arbitrarily as long as “it feels right”.
For that I have a dozen proofs. There are occasions where people get a ridiculous amount of points – which alone is not an issue – but then there are posts that would really, really deserve some dragon points but won't get anything, indicating: “This content by this user isn't valued/approved.”
There are also the skulls. They never get pulled back after been landed by an accident. You would need to go through some shit to revert that at least.I didn't mention Signature of the Week; that's a story for another day.
We don't have a post count for the same reason we aren't giving points out for every kind gesture, or URL. It only supports a torrent of insincerity. You just aren't going to get mountain bikes for a C grade anymore.
An MKOmmunist used to obtain a dragon point for a simple URL even a year ago. The thing is though that not every post is even remotely useful or a kind gesture. There are so many posts that completely lack substance. Such posts are forbidden in some other forums (not MK-related).
If the dragon point system has been changed: why haven't the actual rating rules been revised? The Community FAQ has been changed twice this year alone, without a public mention, and I see what you did there.
“It only supports a torrent of insincerity.” Excuse me? What does sincerity or insincerity of a person perchance have to do with a message that's ultimately feelingless because it's not even alive? Long story short: How can you possibly determine if a person is sincere or not by a message, with bulletproof certainty, and have that as the focal point of judgement?Even if it's about posting “A” grades: you barely acclaim these “good”
posts. One post in e.g. story debates takes up to ten times the effort that a casual post can take, often resulting with new findings, yet you rarely if ever award them. Again, it doesn't stop me from story discussion – no way to consider calling me a hypocrite either because I'm talking for the community as a whole here – but this again proves against the logic.
We want the MKOmmunity to be strong and true and self-sustaining because it's cool unto itself. None of this, of course, should take away from the fact that a lot of work is put into supporting the community and encouraging growth. IRK isn't my secret source of power -- it's a community activity. There are lots of others and if you're desperate for points, you know to travel out into the MKO world and find them. You more than anyone, notorious seeker of points and other.
The impression of “We” is gorgeous but – if I'm right – the philosophy of MKO is based on your thoughts and decisions, Webmaster. This isn't a cry for points but keeping it real. No one could truly support this being honest.
Ghost-Dragon distributed me two dragon points for an artwork i.e. Sonya Blade «topless» recently. A day or two after they were removed. It was disrespectful towards his judgement, a waste of time, disrespectful towards my idea and demotivational for me to work for more. What's the best (or worst) whoever did it – you I presume – never told what was it. Even if I would get a “cheap point” or two sometimes, which is not the case here, I am left with no points often enough to compensate that.
I think there are interesting possibilities to be explored in wurst. Perhaps we could investigate the potential of the 11th century oxfordshire currency of eels? I'll get our best people on it, see what pans out.
I do have some nasty ideas regarding a better dragon points system.
However, I seriously have to think twice about that before giving out anything if I'm being considered insincere and whatnot, when I am not in these "projects" of mine. I don't think I even had to tell that to you.

Edit: Hi, [Killswitch]!!!

Shao Kahn did nothing wrong

I've been perplexed about DP distribution lately myself, but not enough to say anything about it.
Also, Rockchalk, I've missed you, dawg. You left me at the alter! Explain!

I'm sorry. I got cold feet. That, or I decided to sleep in and watch Wet Hot American Summer.

I can't stay mad at you. It goes against my mantra to love and tolerate. It just wasn't meant to be. *looks away* I'll always remember what we had.
Do we have a role playing thread? This is fun.
