I wouldnt even be able to netbattle,Because i havent played the pokemon trading card game,Since the first series and Jungle.

You can edit your team as much as you want or create new ones. you can save all your different Pokemon in the boxes provided. I have about 6 different boxes with Pokemon in and about 4 different teams saved.
Of the moves you named, don't ever use Thunder or Hyper Beam. Hydro Pump is optional and poreferred with Rain Dance. Surf is better overall. Psychic is a must on just about every Psychic type Pokemon.
You'll have to learn movesets and strategies. No Pokemon is built to all out attack other than a Choice Bander.
And yes, you'll probably face some no0bs who use stupid moves and tactics lol. It happens.

Actually, to correct myself, Thunder is an option with Rain Dance like Hydrop Punp as it won't miss whilst it's raining.
If no servers are coming up, click on Start Battling and click on Advanced at the bottom. click specific browser at the side and then enter nb.smogon.com and hit ok. That should bring you to the Smogon server. If anything like this happens again, the address auto saves so you can just click advanced and ok to get on.
If that doesn't work, the servers are probably all down and you'll have to try again later.

Yeah it keeps saying I've been disconnected from the server, so I'm guessing they're just down. I just went ahead and made a water type team for now and I'll make a variety team later. It just sucks bc all the pokemon I really like are all the cute ones that aren't that strong lolz.

Dare I ask? What is on your team lol?
And yeah, try again tomorrow. I've had to come off it due to severe lag. You can't even battle due to it.

I've got Luvdisc (omfg so fucking cute!!), Corsola (majorly underrated), Gorebyss, Gyarados, Lapras, and my uber favorite Starmie!

Well Starmie and Gyarados are standards so they're fine. Lapras is fine also as it's Borderline.
Gorebysss is UU so it won't last long and as for Corsola and Luvdisc, people will laugh at you if you use them lol. They're NU Pokemon, meaning Neverused as they suck and are extremely weak.
I mention Netbattle and everyone is after it lol.

It's Game Freak's fault for giving them rubbish stats and lame movepools. They screw alot of potentially good Pokemon.

Well as much as it pained me to do, I changed my team around. I kept Starmie, Gyarados and Lapras, and I added Golduck, Quagsire, and Milotic. I might switch one of them out for Cloyster. Not sure.

Not necessarily; Starmie can do just fine with Surf, Bolt-Beam, and Rapid Spin,* Exeguttor would prefer Hidden Power Fire/Ice over Psychic to handle its weaknesses, and Jynx can rape just enough pokes with Ice Beam and Calm Mind. Basically, the main pokes who should have Psychic are the ones who are not dual-types (think Alakazam, Gardevoir, Mr. Mime, Grumpig, etc.).
Netbattle rules, I have to play it more.

True, I was thinking in terms of OU/BL though, where most Psychics are dual and/or physical.

I know this and that's why I didn't mean them all. Also, in UU you have Hypno who normally doesn't have Psychic. And Grumpig is UU. If only it's defense and HP were a little higher and it'd be OU for sure. That thing owns Regice!
