I also read something about 10 playable characters (no new ones though), a September release, gameplay similar to Unleashed (day), Colors, and Generations (Modern), and stages will have true branching paths, with different routes leading to different levels.

Because half-way through the discussion on _____ topic in this thread, it is a good idea to make another thread specifically for that topic that will usually last 3 pages at most.

The Drive By thread isn't a substitute for the forums. It's for casual, stream of consciousness chatter that isn't a substantial topic. Too many posts in here belong in new or existing threads. If it doesn't change, it's gonna go away. The community needs this activity where it belongs, where it's accessible.

You want to talk about it, you are talking about it. This is a cinch.

It's the main reason why I bought it! I bought the XL version too and Super Mario 3D land.

I get that but I just don't see the point when people make a thread for a topic that is already being discussed in drive-by when the discussion is usually more than halfway over. The new thread then get about like 15 replies and dies off so it doesn't add much activity anyway. May as well just make the new thread with the discussion idea instead of making a post about it in Drive-By that way the discussion can all be in the one thread instead of split between the two.

The point is to not start talking about it here.

Well we can't predict the future. When we post about something we have no idea if anyone is going to care to discuss about it. So instead of making a thread that people may or may not talk about, and clutter up the forums with half assed threads, we post in Drive by. It's the beauty of this thread.

I think the point that TNR is making is valid as well. If the discussion is already half over, then again it's only going to clutter the forums up with another 10-15 reply thread. And last time I checked, you guys were not to fond of clutter with the whole Garlador incident. Now if a discussion went on for several pages in Drive by, then the discussion might continue in another thread and maybe one should or should have been made. But again, we can't foresee the future.

And when that happens...

A little common sense is gonna go a long way. Small stuff isn't much to worry about. The bottom line will always be that one thread isn't a substitute for the forum. For a substantial topic you can seek-out an all-inclusive superthread, use specific existing threads, or start your own. Conversation topics needn't be essays, there's room for casual conversation. You're not gonna be crucified for not expecting a substantial conversation about a ten year old niche interest, but there are other options to consider, and when a conversation does begin, you know to go for it in a new thread.

I'm not sure where the notion of brief or casual conversation topics being a bad thing came from, but the community will be better for getting past it. If you can't predict the success of a thread, don't condemn it before it's happened. You never know who might be interested, or when. Time to get this stuff back where it belongs, on the forum. To open these conversations up to the community.

Clearly this is going to be a shift in logic for some. Clearly this is going to lead to some pretty wild assumptions and a little drama. My best advice: just try to figure it out. It's the basic principle of a community and forum.

just went up another level on dead island. now i'm level 45. only 15 levels more to go then my character has reached the level cap. took a long time just to go up 1 level.

Looks like I'm going to super bowl party next Sunday. Can't wait, we going americanize the party so should be good laugh. I think I might paint my face as well like those crazy fans
