Non taken bro... There are always a few nuts out there in every society, and the military is no exception.... Those type of members never last or end up pussying out because they are not right in the head... We have our ways of weeding out the fuck-ups... But let's face it, our job is to protect our country from enemies both foreign and domestic. How do we do that? We kill people, a cold, hard, fact of life.. War is hell, and shouldn't be used but as a last straw. I had a friend, (I am using the word friend loosely) years back that joined the Army for the very purpose of "to kill people." He went to Somalia, witnessed death, and left the military very quickly after that... He regretted his weak minded purposes for joining. Most, and I stress "most" are in the service for the right reasons, and that's to preserve our way of life.. Our countries enemies do not care if you believe in peace, they will cut your head off or blow up your family all the same, because your views are not shared by theirs... Until countries cooperate and say no more wars, we must fight fire with fire, or be forced to be another countries bitch...

I just got back from a company banquet honoring my five years of service. (There were others honored, of course, not just me.) I got:

- a plaque for my desk
- my choice of gift from a catalog (has stuff like jewelry, cookware, small electronics - each gift valued around $20, I'd say...)
- an extra day of paid vacation!

There are these three dogs around the corner from our house. Walking home from school today, I spotted two of them walking towards me. I was like "I know you guys." The guy that guards the streets with the stop sign noticed also and brought them to the owners' house. I thought the third one was safely home, but in reality he's wandering the streets also.

It was kind of bittersweet, and it's really starting to bother me a lot.

I see people complaining about random PM and I think I have only had 10 PM in more than a year of comming here...
