Ed Boon mad it to the top 100 hot developers of 2009 and got no:75 in that list from edge .com .

He made a great series got millions and a whole company is trying its best to keep him while both of you are nothing other than two silly members trying to make fun on us ,,insulting us in every fu**ing post you post .

As for the baseball team that was the most stupid example I have ever read .

There are more than 50000 developers in all time to pick 100 from them is reall a small presntage .

Anyway, the baseball analogy was a little bit of a joke. I was poking fun at Ed Boon for being last on the list. I wasn't being serious. So you and folocron or whatever can take a pill or several.

I will say one thing about MK...it's been around for a long time even tho the game is is kind of a joke when compared to other fighters. So if Eddy-boy is good at something it's at convincing people to buy a sub-par game. For his next trick he will sell ice to Eskimos.

Anyway, you say its good that he made the list because there are "more then 50000 developers" true dat... but how many great games were released lets say...last year. Maybe 20...so making a list of 100 greatest developers from last year would only be hard because you would have to choose 80 from the crap pile.

First off, this is an all-time greatest game creator list, not last year's.

Second, I'm going to correct my original post and say that for every one developer that made the list, 49 didn't (assuming there are 5,000 developers total). Sleep starvation does that to me.

MK is pretty much the only US-made fighting game franchise left. It's been there since the Street Fighter 2 era, is still going on, and has had consistently good sales.

That right there is reason enough for him to make that list.

I'm trying to think of any other USA made fighting game that's been nearly as popular, good as MK in general since it's started with fans wanting more. I can't think of any honestly...outside of War Gods which was also ironically made by Midway.

That is true enough...I can't think of any American made fighting game that's still alive. But at the same time take at look at MK and compare it to VF, Tekken, Soul Calibur, and DOA and tell me that MK is on the same level as those games. The only thing it has that those games don't is blood and fatalities...and if that's enough to make a list of the best of the best that's really sad.

Well at times even those games aren't without flaws, SC3?Tekken 4?SFEX? DOA most people don't even like or play same with VF a lot feel is rather "boring" I will admit though, out of all fighters DOA is the only one actually played professionally at MLG/CGI I know a friend personally he's one of the best DOA4 players.

I respect them but just saying what other fighter fans on MKunited and Shoruken.com etc. Don't let the titles fool ya, there's tons of fans on those sites that like other fighters beside MK and SF.

But that aside, WG's was alright. Thought it was better then Tae Feng. I'd probably rather play Primal Rage over both but that was another game that some people were hyped for a sequel but didn't happen

I've been playing fighting games for a long time and I've played all the games I mentioned pretty thoroughly. So when I compare I can't even grasp how anyone even thinks the game is remotely good in comparison.

I mean I could go grab Tekken Tag on the PS2...that game is well old and yet it has better mechanics then the newest MK game does. I find that sad on so many levels.

I used to be a pretty hardcore MK fan...up until MK3. Then they made UMK3 which was basically MK3 had they actually worked hard on it. Then they released MKT...which again was just MK3 but this time with quickly slapped together garbage added. I didn't really become disillusioned until MK4 which wow....I'm not sure what they were thinking with that game but it was 4 steps back. I felt like I was playing MK2 3D but not really 3D. Still I allowed myself to get excited when I heard MKDA was being released...then I played it. I've not been excited about an MK since then.

So when I hear Ed Boon gets put on a list of top creators... I dunno maybe he deserved it 10 years ago but now...personally. I think he is putting out crap. Obviously, that's in conflict with whomever made that list but whatever that's just my opinion.

Nikodemus has a point there. Especially as regards the comparisons between MK and other fighting games. Although MK can be fun to play, gameplay wise it's nowhere near the games like even SC3 or Tekken 4, which were mentioned as the worst in their series.

That's fine, we all have our views. I think overall Boon should be in there because of his overall success. He and Tobias made MK originally, just a school project one of the most popular series ever...has tons of sequels more then most fighters number wise yet is still here. Despite how some may feel about it now, that has to be acknowledged to some extent.

Concerning it's competitorsJust saying Capcom, Namco etc have messed up at times as well. MVC2 is broken...has infinites, SC3 just sucked flat out, TT5 Jin is banned, SF games Akuma is soft banned in some games...

I'm not saying MKT, MK4 or MKD, MKA were perfectly. They had issues, but I think at times MKA and MKDC especially are often hated on for ridiculous reasons when clearly MKA was better then MKD and MKDC is very playable. The best MK games gameplay wise since UMK3(not counting MK:SM which was good but adventure MK)

Did you try playing MKDC? It's much better then the 3D MK's(to me anyway) Shingo I think likes it more, I think TTT said he liked it a bit more then the previous MK games and some others on here who haven't had much interest since 2D MK. It's actually playable and has had some tournaments offline and online. More then I can say about MKD and MKA.

I hope MK9 is like UMK3 honestly, similar engine with throw escapes, wake ups etc. Capcom took that route with SF4, it worked, if MKDC sold this well way more then previous two MK games and played online from the time of launch then I think a 2D MK again which Boon/MK team hinted at but didn't confirm anything 100% I think that could bring back a lot of the oldschool fans.
