By the way, yes the Sun will expand and then implode in about four and a half billion years, but because its heat and radiation keeps getting more and more intense, life as we know it will already be impossible within "only" 1 billion years.
Also, I'm a strong believer in the fact that a global disaster such as a thermonuclear war, a continental shift or a pandemia, would not necessarily be a bad thing in the long run.

Oh, I also wanted to mention this...
In the cases of lack of resources, war, famine, and disease, those most likely wouldn't cause the EXTINCTION of humanity. In nature, when the needs of animal or plant populations excede the capacity of their territories, the species will usually start reproducing at a slower rate. Otherwise, masses of the species will die off; not to the point of extinction, however, but to levels manageable for the environment. Starvation and disease are the most likely causes of this.
Likewise, if the human population begins to excede the capacity of the Earth, famine and disease are inevitable. That's why the Bubonic Plague decimated Europe's population in the Middle Ages.
As far as actual extinction, environmental damage and NUCLEAR war (as opposed to conventional war) are probably more likely to do us in than famine or disease.

I knew that some moron like you will come along. All i have to say is that if you dont like my opinions or have a problem with it...you can simply pm me. I didnt make this thread to PISS out my "enlightnments"...just letting people know about the possibilities. And for your information...the opinions I made above come from my knowledge not from damnation lectures. I didnt know that nowadays sharing Knowledge was a crime!
Think Before you TYPE!

Oh I thought about it alright. I thought about all the Geologists, Biologists, Evironmentalists, and Socialogists who have stated the very same things you claimed as relatively knowledgable news probably even before you were born. Did you think about that before you typed?
Then I thought, these specialists who have already stated these possibilities have just as much credibility towards extinction therioes as you or I. Did you think about that before you typed?
The point: The only reason you're upset is because you didn't impress very many people with your "knowledge" and I'm the only one really who called you out on it by saying you're very gullible.
Furthermore, You are the one who asked for the thoughts of readers aren't you? I gave them, and I even contributed to the subject matter by AGREEING with you in saying the human race will eventually cease to exist.
What more do you want? If you were looking for me to sit in awe of this it is not going to happen.

When I made this thread my intentions were not to impress people. Simply cause I was aware that many already probably knew this...so i wanted to discuss the issue. After all iam in the right place...GENERAL DISCUSSION right? Meaning anyone can discuss whatever they choose to. And when i made this thread I didnt want a "judge" judging my opinions. Buddy!...Its called Theories...it doesnt always have to be right...thats why its called THEORIES!
Stop critisizing other peoples' opinions!
When did I say to not make the thread?
When did I not contribute to the subject matter?
All I said was that you're very gullible.
And we're suppose to critisize others opinions or nothing ever changes, so stop acting so politically correct. If no one critisized opinions we'd still think Plate Techtonics is rubbish or we'd still think Structuralism in psychology is a reliable method of analyzation.

Whatever. What got to me was when you said I was trying to "impress" people here.
Belive me when I say this...the only was I try to impress people is by person.

Did you give any valid reasons WHY he is very gullible?
What Afghanblade originally stated is pretty much common sense; of course humanity will become extinct, and of course things like war, disease, and famine are possible causes.
Criticism is fine and good, if it's CONSTRUCTIVE. I can't see any reason for what you originally said than to tear Afghanblade down. I don't think he was trying to impress anyone, and he never said "This is how/when humanity will become extinct." Your criticism here seems to be equivalent to replying to a piece of fan art saying it sucks because you don't like the character.
If you know of scientific evidence that contradicts the ideas Afghanblade originally posted, then by all means, share your wisdom; that would be constructive. After all, I doubt Darwin changed the minds of any Creationists just by calling them gullible.

Yes I did, its on the first page.
I never said any possibilities stated were invalid. What I said these are theories that are a coin toss's chance of being right, so there's no point in considering them truth.
Now, was I agressive and assertive in making my point....of course. But that does not mean I dislike the guy. I'm debating an arguement and I gave my reason for why this is necessary in my last post. And if you or him cannot take or accept that then I cannot help you two.
Lastly, evolutionist do consider creationist gullible simply because they are less scientific, but this is a subject I will go no further in due to regulations

P.S. This isn't discussing religion, I'm just stating a fact.

Evolution can be a proven Fact. Just place the bones of the pre-homininds next to each other. Any expert in Osteology will tell you that the anatomical features change as you go from one species to another. Now this maybe just a coincidence or simply "dumb luck"...however scientists like to think of it as solid Fact.
Now people are drifting a little off-topic. I dont intend on making this "Religion VS Evolution" thread.

What "theories" are you referring to, exactly? The closest things to "theories" that he stated were: "But ultimately, in the end, we will have ourselves to blame for our own Extinction. If mother nature's wrath does not put an end to us, then we shall fall victim to our own doings," and "Human Beings, just like anything else before it or after it, will become extinct." The former seems to have little to do with what you originally said, and the latter is simply a cogent inductive assumption, and, like the former, has little to do with your response. Other than that, all he said was "Here are some ways we MIGHT become extinct." He never said anything to the effect of "This is how we WILL become extinct," or even "We WILL become extinct one of these ways." I don't see anything in his original post that suggests gullibility.
| LoganMK Wrote: Lastly, evolutionist do consider creationist gullible simply because they are less scientific, but this is a subject I will go no further in due to regulations |
I never said evolutionists didn't think creationists were gullible; I just said they probably didn't CHANGE THEIR MINDS just by CALLING them gullible.
I'm laughing at you, not with you.

Before I answer your question I have to know one thing, what type of person are you. Are you the type to believe something because of how many number of people write/say it. Or are you the type of person to believe something because of experience. Think about it for a bit, then answer and i'll answer your question.
