GameSpot employee demonstrates the degenerates of this generation...

For those of you who have been following my posts you've noticed hugely negative views towards the tail-end of Generation Y (which sociologists can't get the exact years right anymore - Gen Y either includes those born between 1977 and 1994 or 1980s through the early 2000s according to some sociologists). To provide another example through a transcript of my dialogue with said employee today:

Me: I want my name on a list for everything MK you'd be giving away for free.
Him: I don't know if they're giving us anything for it.
Me: I hope so, the games comes out April 19th.
Him: Well, it depends on whether Midway gives us anything or not.
Me: It's not Midway anymore.
Him: Oh, who is it?
Me: It's WB. Midway went bankrupt.

If you can't find the problem with this dialogue and the degenerate mindset of this, well, degenerate employee at Gamespot, then you my friend are an example of the Degenerates of this generation... Degeneration Y.
This is on topic because it relates to GameSpot, a media outlet that sells MK and other video games.

This belongs more in General Discussion and there is nothing wrong with this conversation.

First of all, you come in like an idiot and demand free stuff, which you assume they have, then you get mad because an employee doesn't know minor details. Does it matter who's distributing the game? No. Does it matter that the kid got it wrong? No. He's an employee, not a department head, not a CEO, not a journalist. It's his job to sell the games, not to act as a god damned encyclopedia. You think the fact that WB is funding this game makes anyone buy it? No, so why should he know it?

Second of all "Generation Y" is the majority of this site's user base. I'm not sure when you're from, but from the sounds of it, you're probably part of whatever the newest generation is, because if an employee not being an all knowing genie is enough to make you call an entire generation "degenerates" then you clearly have the temper of a 12 year old.

Hey, I still catch myself saying Midway instead of WB once in a while. It's just what I'm use to. It's not like WB has owned MK for that long, anyway.

I have to agree. That's a silly thing to get so upset about, coming from this Gen X'er. I mean just today, a bomb went off in the Moscow airport, people are rioting in Tunisia, and political divisiveness continues to tear this country apart. But you're more consumed about this particular "degenerate" knowing what company distributes your favorite game. Look at the bigger picture, man....

They were probably blowing Moscow up and creating unrest due to not getting free MK stuff from the website Gamespot, I mean the store Gamestop

I'm sorry but this poor gentleman you conversed with, didn't have all the information you required. Nor did he know about Midway's trouble.

But that isn't his fault. Because he hasn't got time, presumely, to know everything. I mean he would have to know about every other thing.
I mean Marvel V Capcom, Batman, Gears, Halo, Playstation 5... list is endless....

It is your job to choose where to pre order the game rather than walking up to this bloke and demanding everything free thats coming with MK.

He is not a degenerate. He is not a indication that human species is getting dumber. He is just not as clued up on a gaming franchise as you.

So some kid came into the Gamestop I was working at and started demanding free Mortal Kombat shit. He wanted to be on some magical list of people that get free merchandise. I told him that I wasn't sure if Midway was shipping any free stuff to our store, just to give him some sort of mental comfort. Then he made some snide ass remark about how Mortal Kombat is now made by Warner Brothers. And you now what? He had the nerve to call me a degenerate! Now Gamestop might not be on Forbes most desirable jobs list, but at least I'm working while the little bastard buys video games all damn day! The shit I put up with...
