Recently I picked up the classic book "Scary Stories to Read in the Dark", and thought some of the ghost stories were interesting. On that note, anyone have any fact/fictional ghost stories to share?

Here's a good one:

A businessman arrived at a hotel late on night and asked for a room. The room clerk told them that the hotel was all filled up. "There is only one empty room," he said,"But we don't rent that one out because it is haunted."
"I'll take it," said the business man,"I don't believe in ghosts."
The man went up to the room. He unpacked his things, and he went to bed. As soon as he did, though, a ghost came out of the closet. It's fingers were bleeding and it was moaning,"Bloody fingers! Bloody fingers!" When the man saw the ghost, he grabbed his things and ran.
The next night, a woman came to the hotel very late. Again, all the rooms were taken except the haunted room.
"I'll take it", she said,"I am not afraid of ghosts."
As soon as she got into bed, a ghost came out of the closet. It's fingers were still bleeding. It was still moaning," Bloody fingers! Bloody finger!" And the woman took one look and ran.
A week later, a man arrived at the hotel very late. He also took the haunted room.
After he had unpacked all his things, he took out his guitar and started to play. Soon the ghost appeared. His fingers were still bleeding and he was still moaning,"Bloody fingers! Bloody fingers!"
The man paid no attention to the ghost. He just kept strumming his guitar. But the ghost kept moaning and his fingers kept bleeding.
Finally the guitar player looked up. "Cool it man!" he said,"Get yourself a Band-Aid!"

Hmmmmmmmm... I would have been a bit more blunt with the ghost. I mean just cause you're dead it doesn't mean that you still can't be a little curtious of others. lol Good story.

Why don't we also make up stories of our own? Get the creative juices flowing here. It'll be cool to see if we could scare eath other.

When i usually have get-togethers with my family, they usually always talk about ghost stories from back home, and there stories are truly terrifying its not even funny. Some of em dont make me sleep for weeks, and alot of my family members have seen ghosts.

Meh, i'll prolly post some afterwards.

This isnt really a ghost story but it is true... when my Grandma was younger a man called Johnny Booger( that was his nick name i cant right off the top of my head remember his real last name) lived down the road from her and my Grandma and countless people that live around have witnessed him making things happen... my mom and dad actually seen it once, he could make things appear out of thin air, make things move, etc. he said that he didnt know how he could do it, he just could... when Johnny got into his late 80's he started going to church and started sleeping with a bible under his pillow, after that he couldnt do any of those things anymore... Hes burried a few miles down the road from me and everytime u ask someone about him as a person they perk up and tell u how they was friends with him but when u ask them about him making things happen they get a whitish color and tell u about what they saw while shaking... My Grandma actually told me what she saw once, she was walking home with him one day and he stoped and held his hands out and a flock of sheep appeared, she said she touched them and they was real, but then he let his hands down and they disappeared...

I could tell u countless things about Johnny Booger, but from what I saw of him and stuff he was a good person he just had a power that he had no idea what it was...

My work place is haunted. It's not really a scary story, but I don't have any so I'll tell u about this. It could be 3 causes:

1. It was an armory during the civil war (hence the name the 'Arsenal' building. Many people died there.

2. 2 people have died at work there. The most recent being about 10 or 15 years ago.

Things I've been a part of personally, you can hear someone walking around all the time. On Saturdays there is only two of us and all day we hear someone pacing upstairs, and it's very noisy as the floors are ancient. Back and forth back and forth. Boxes move around in the warehouse, machines unplug themselves, etc.

I love that book series M4C but that isn't a good example from their series. The story of the man covered in oil falling on a boat outta nowhere in a deep fog on the ocean is great. They have great artwork with every story. The scarecrow that slowly grows and slowly shows signs of life freaked me out as a kid.

This is a true story it happened to a friend of a friend of mine *grin cheesy grin grin* my friend said his friends go to exploring cemetaries and they once saw a ghost dancing out of the corner of their eye, but when they turned to have better look it dissapeared. It only appeared to them when they viewed it from the corner of their eye.

Also go to this page, it has some pretty freaky footages of ghosts

here's a story posted on a website that i visit quite often, there are many more stories there some are made up some are from posters experiences. the site is listed below if you want to visit

castle of spirits

here's the story enjoy

A young teenage girl lived at home with her mother, father and her much loved pet dog.

Being 16 years old her parents decided that she was now old enough to be left alone without a minder while they went out for the evening. Although there was some concern about leaving a young girl in a house all by herself, they knew she was sensible and would behave. And besides, she did have the pet Alsatian dog to look after her and keep her company.

The parents left for the night, leaving Emergency phone numbers and supplies for the night. The girl was thrilled to be spending her first night alone in her parents house and mainly watched TV until 11.00 rolled round.

Deciding she was tired she moved upstairs to her comfy bedroom to retire for the night. Her trusty Alsatian dog following her all the time.

After being asleep for a short time she awoke to a dripping noise coming from the bathroom. Not afraid, but curious as to what the noise was she lowered her hand down beside her bed to gain a little comfort from the Alsatian. She felt the warmth of his soft tongue as he licked her hand, showing her that he was O.K and that everything would be alright. Feeling assured she drifted off to sleep once more.

Waking once again to the sounds of the dripping tap, or whatever it was, in the bathroom she instinctively dropped her hand down to pet her dog. Once again her dog offered up the loyal companionship that only a much trusted and loved pet can, and licked her hand and she once again fell asleep.

For the last time she woke up again, that annoying noise was still going, she reached for her dog but found he wasn't there. Wondering where her parents were at this time of night (it was about 3.30am by this time) and looking for her dog she walked out into the bathroom.

A horrifying sight met her, the dog had been mutilated and was creating the dripping noise, as blood slowly fell and pooled on the floor below. Screaming she ran back through the house and attempted to call the police. The phone was dead, and she turned to suddenly see her parents also mutilated behind her. Her screams could be heard as she looked down at a note written in blood, it read:
"Humans Can Lick Too My Beautiful".

She then runs madly for the stairs only to see a black figure waiting with open arms to catch her.
