too many man. elvis creating rock. the beatles being the greatest and then seperating creating multi sucesful solo carrers for them. 70's rock seen with ac/dc zepplin, who,(my favorite band tom petty and the heartbreakers cam out). punk coming out and i dont mean that crappy pop emo punk lke simple plan or good charolate. hard rock and kick ass guitars in the 80's with vanhalen. jimi hendrix rediefining the guitar and how it can be played. last biggest super group the traveling wilburys formed and then disbanded. rolling stones actually making it this long and making great rock. too many moments. worst tho is everyone catching on to that stupid boy band crap and the crap that is put out by artist like britany spears and n'sync. worst moment is when rock died in the late 1980's or early 90's. u can decided for that. i cant think of any good moments that have to deal with all this crappy pop style thats going on now. well now that ive said that im going to rock out to ac/dc and ozzy.

That guitar solo in Black Label Society's "Stillborn". I thought some of Zakk Wylde's solos kicked major ass, but the one in Stillborn blew me away!
I'd also have to say Rob Halford's return to Judas Priest.

She does have fans but some of them are not loyal. The majority of people who like her are Teen Boppers. They go from one singer to the next singer.Britney Spears has Talent but she's using her body more than her voice.Just like ALOT of female singers. There only a few that are decent as a person.I hope Rock and Rap music gets back on there feet soon.MTV and Record companies are destroying Rock and rap music. And the sad part about it is that artists who use to make good music sold out for money.I dont see what the point is into doing that.
People bought your CD because you had a good style so why change it?Take Christina Aguilerra for example her CD's sold before she went slutty. That whole thing about being herself is BS.MTV knows us REAL fans hate that music.
Don't really know about Lost Prophets, but the other two are emo shit. They're terrible. If you're going to listen to emo, at LEAST take the time to find some good stuff.

Personally, I am happy that MTV brought back Headbangers Ball (though it's on MTV2)! A LOT of us are fed up with a MAJORITY of the crap the music industry has been feeding us! I'm also fed up with Britney Spears, Jessica Simpson, Christina Aguilera, this boy band crap, pop punk, etc.

I second that. Try out stuff like the Postal Service and the Dismemberment Plan.

Didn't Sabastian Bach from Skid Row deck some fucker from Poison in the head recently? That's a great moment.

Umm Elvis didn't create rock. Rock started much earlier in black clubs. Rock became public with Chuck Berry.
Anyway..Now that I took care of that, here are some of my highlights of music:
-Pearl Jam's "Ten" album
-The start of metal, and it's branching from hair bands to all the other sub genres (Thrash, Industrial, Speed, Death, etc)
-The Who's "Baba O' Riley"
-Pink Floyd's "Dark Side of the Moon"
-Led Zepplin's "Stairway to Heaven"
-Zack Wylde (everything)
-Kanno Yoko (anime composer)

I think most people would agree that the greatest moment in modern rock history is Nirvana's "Smells Like Teen Spirit".

he consider the king of rock thats what im implying and blade-sung noes what hes talkin about. and no blaze-rocks from what i heard muisc today just sucks after the death of nirvana. yea there r still some great rock bands out there put the music worl is just overflowed with emo shit and bublegum muisc.

I think that there are too many generations and sub-genres to fully identify a single greatest moment. However, that being said I'll throw out one of my nominations:
The Allman Brothers Band releases "Live at the Fillmore East" setting the standard for live double rock albums for the next 3 decades...a true example of the demonstration of raw talent on stage without any studio wizardry (not that there isn't anything to be said for that...this just shows unaltered artistry)

You got that right! I wish I had Stairway to Heaven on vinyl so I could play it backwards! Zakk Wylde is one of the most bad-ass guitarists I have ever heard! I even got to meet him at last year's Ozzfest! As for the metal genre, it's the only genre of music I listen to.

I believe I might have misunderstood you Hyuga, as you asked for the greatest moment in any song, not music in general. So, in that case, Hendrix playing the National Anthem was/is pretty sick.

hendrix is simply a reat guitarist and so hid the guy from the allaman brothers. and many more greats such as mike campbell, slash, brian may, toni iomi, angus young, and george harrison. (at leats those r my favs.) and there are to many great moments. music will always be great and always changing. not always for the better but non the less changing. rock use to be great until it eveolved into todays crap. sure there are great new rock bands such as jet, white stripes, and many others but rock has lost its edge and this new rock has turned many old rock fans off. the music bis is all about money these days thats why they dont care about talent and through teenage girls that are half naked on stage to lip synch songs that they didnt even write and they get fame and fortune. and thats a real downer of rock these days. rock is an umbrella term with so many meagings and generes. they consider shakira and Good Charolate to be rock when there not. the days of good rock n roll are long ogne and the only people that make that music are the ones that were doing it 40 to 20 years ago. and die hard fans of that style. yes u may disagree with me and say that im wrong. but ithink rock has gone down ever since late 80's early 90's. last rock album that was pure rock n' roll that went above double platium was either wildflowers by tom petty. recent best was the momentary reunitement of van hallen.

The greatest moment in any "song", to me, would have to be the guitar solo in "Dreams" by Van Halen. Eddie's solos in "Why Can't This Be Love" and "Jump" are also very good. The solo in "Round and Round" by Ratt brings tears to my eyes.
