Hackers are very respectable people, crackers are mostly low-life idiots with no proper knowledge of how a computer works.

Hence my attempt to correct the usage of the words.

I would do as some have said and start from scratch elseware, and get your system and the other mods systems checked for keyloggers and other trojans as he's got the passwords etc from them, once they are fully cleaned get firewalls installed either a third party one or if using XP get service pack 2 installed and all updates patches etc, and dont forget virus checkers, being hacked is a pain i know but you need to prevent it in the first place the net isn't safe anymore without security of somekind.

dont take this as a lecture or anything just friendly advice, and good luck with the new forum when you get it going.

"Black Hat" is a synonym for Cracker.

He's probably not even a hacker, probably just a script kiddie.

Anyway, I would suggest just reporting his IP to his provider (assuming he wasn't using a proxy or something of the like, unlikely if he was a script kiddie), don't bother the FBI with it though, they've got more important things to worry about than somebody's forum (not to come off as a jerk).

Also, if you're not gonna bother getting a board with some kind of security then you pretty much have to expect this kind of harassment. Too many teenage delinquents out there with nothing better to do than make people miserable unfortunately.

Thank you for bothering to put it politely, Agilo. As far as I've been told, there are bad hackers and there are good hackers. Depends on the person. And I'd rather not use the word "cracker", as it can be associated with racism. How about we just call it what Jonin called it and not turn this into a flame thread?

I already reported his IP to his provider, as I already stated. Reporting him to the FBI was what my mother originally suggested, and I've decided against it. I'm not wasting mine or their time.
