Hacked again ... and losing everything.

You know ... I really hate hackers. Especially a certain one who I and my friends refer to as "Asshat". I don't know what he has against me. I don't know why he gets a kick out of upsetting my forum. I don't know why he won't get a life and leave me alone.

This is the third time that he has hacked my forum.

I came home today at 5:00 P.M. from church, signed on messenger, and got a frantic IM from one of my mods. He said he had been banned. I went to the forum to see what was going on, and then it popped up a message saying that I was banned from my own forum as well! Another mod IMed me and said the same thing that she was banned. Luckily, I was able to get my cousin to log into my account and unban myself and the mods.

However, my heart fell when I saw what happened to my forum. All of the boards were gone ... all of the posts were gone ... the header was gone ... the footer was gone ... and the news fader had a single word on it: "cry."

Normally he'd put something like "HI CHANY-BUTT! YOU CAN'T PREVENT ME FROM HACKING YOU!" Or he'd insult my ass further or insult my boyfriend. But ... that really made me sad. I spent so much time working on that forum, making everything perfect. I never knew how much I took for granted with it. All the posts held a lot of memories between me, my friends, and my cousins that I have no other means of communication with. It's sad. I can't do anything with the forum anymore because he would just hack it again and ruin things.

Now I have to find another free forum provider. I tried Invisionboard - but I don't like it. Too complicated. It's nothing like the simplicity of proboards that I loved. I want to use phpbb since I know how the forum works, but I heard from a friend that I have to have a site with a php-nuke server or something. o_O If anyone knows anything about that, PM me or something. I really need some help with it.

But really ... I don't know who this hacker is, or what I did to him to piss him off. I don't understand why he would waste his time obsessing over how he can hack into my close-knit forum and try to ruin things for me. It's really heart-breaking, considering how hard I worked to make it successful ... I guess whatever can go wrong, will.

That sucks bad what the guy,no thing did.People who do that have absolutely no life what-so-ever.They live to hurt people...over the internet.How sad is that?I have gone through hackers before too.Eventually ended up catching up with them online (lucky for them) and verbally attacked them.Then one got sick of it and tried to screw up my computer,almost did.But I kept attacking him until he left,never came back either.And dont worry,it WILL go away.

Ahhh you've got your very own personal forum Troll.

Best way to deal with them to is ignore them and not make any mention of them whatsoever or give them the attention they are wanting.

Make a new forum elsewhere and don't advertise it, that way your friends and relatives can use the forum with you and you'll not have to deal with said Troll again.

I've dealt with my fair share of them in the past and present both here and elsewhere, and giving them any sort of attention at all is just what they want you to do.

If they see that they aren't bothering you and aren't getting the attention they look for from their antics, odds are they'll leave.

No offense Chan,but I think you are over-reacting.I know who ever it is pissed you off,and your sick of it.But still,one tip for you,get a new username.On that forum,post a fake link to a new forum under your existing name.He will think you are on that one.Tell everyone else you switched your name,and make another forum.The first new one,that you give out on the current forum would act as no more then a decoy.Hope you understood that.Here is a few questions about the person you should think about.

Does it know your name?
Where you live?
Basically anything you havent posted on a forum?

If it does,it is possibly someone you know.

I tried ignoring him once. I even shut down the forum and left it on maintenance mode for a week. He stopped coming for a while ... I mean, it's been a while since he last came. I thought he had gone off to harass some other webmistress, but I was wrong.

I would like to redo the forum on that url, but he'd keep coming back to it.

MetadragonX suggested I open up another proboards forum and start over there. I was going to do that - but I thought, proboards can get hacked so easily, so what's the point?

Stephen suggested that I go to invisionboards. But ... I hate those boards! They're too complicated!

I really want to use phpbb ... but I don't know how to get it. I don't know what I should do now.

And KKW2 - FBI as in Federal Bureau of Investigation.

I agree with rabid_wolverine.You are over-reacting a little bit there, I mean, it's just a forum, it's not like he hacked ur University home page or anything,-now that's worth reporting to the FBI.

You should try EZboard,it's alright but some members have a hard time logging in.Other than that it's a alright provider.You also get secruity with EZboard.

Unlike all of the other people posting here,I do not think you should switch forums.Dont give the hacker what it wants,cause thats what its try to do,drive you away.I think you should try my idea.And if it doesnt work you got 3 options:

Stay and ignore.
Stay and fight.
Leave and give in to its wants.

If it does get bad enough though,just leave.But for now try that.

You should buy an updated firewall... that's if he's hacking ur commputer to access the forum

If he just hacks the frum itself change passwords and keys regularly to very different things... no like password36 ad then password37... get stuff off the top o your head every other day or so... a pain in the ass 4 a while, bu it's untill he leaves

IMO, it would be better to make a new forum, since everything is gone. But there has been alot of sound advice given, so it's just up to you Chan to figure out what you want to do. I'm behind ya no matter what you decide. ^_^

I did end up changing my password on a regular basis. My passwords were always long and complex, and didn't even make sense. Most of them were stupid phrases in Chinese. Not only did he hack my account, but he also hacked several mod accounts as well, which leads me to believe he has some sort of password-hacking program of some kind.

And no, I do not know how the hacker knows me. I don't know anything about him other than the fact that he's a lifeless bastard who likes the word "ghey". I mean, he after the second time I outsmarted him, he went to KENSHIKW2's forum and joined as "ChanIsGheyHeyHey". How stupid is that?
