Listen man, you did something really fucking stupid. I don't know much about clinical depression, but I do know that there is only one mistake in life you can't fix and that's taking your own life. For fucks sake, what did you think suicide would solve?

This isn't a useful comment, and I don't mean that in a douchey way.

The fact is, in a suicidal state it is an action reflected upon in the most selfish mindset. He may think he is doing something to benefit others, but that's not true. In his current state of mind, killing himself would solve absolutely every problem he has by removing himself from the equation, despite it having a profound impact on everyone around him. He needs to know why others need him, not why they don't.

If you were really concerned about your family's poverty, how about considering the cost of a funeral? Now how about considering the hospital bill that was needed to cover the treatment for your actions? Do you think a measly tax refund is going to make your family all better in the long term? Or even really in the short term, after they have to pay for the damages you caused?

If you want to help your family, contribute. Otherwise, stop lying to yourself and accept why you are making these choices. You are scared and alone. Nobody should ever have to feel that way, and I hope you find your motivation to make you feel alive again. We can be here to listen, but it is up to you to find out what you really want with your life.

So yeah, suicide solves all of your problems. But don't kid yourself. You are leaving behind more damage than what you lived with. Your family and friends will not be grateful.
