I first signed on to MKO in 2003, but wasn't really active until 2006. I took two hiatus periods, one in 2010(ish) for about a year, and another in 2014, which lasted about a year and a half.

Excluding the hiatus and the first three years of hardly any activity, I guess you can say I've been on for seven and a half years.

12 years today. Joined in 2004, but I lurked since the site came up in a search for MK5 way back in the day.

Saw the first images of Deadly Alliance showing MK3 Jax reaching towards Scorpion at the Acid Bath. I read info on the old games, n enjoyed Ermac discussions before ultimately joining.

Might've come across the site while I was still in school, as I used the computers in the library at lunch to look up game info, codes, rumors, etc. The old Nintendo code vault, and when cheat cc n segasages were still relevant. I read walkthrough of the Japanese versions of Pokemon Gold/Silver on Gamefaqs, before they were released here.

Also looking up M.U.G.E.N. stuff. Various projects n offshoots which I've partially contributed to since I joined MKO with some of my sprite & stage edits in the fan submission forum. I also make cheap web/sprite comics (see sig).

The name change from mk5.org to mortalkombatonline threw me off at first, 2 sites with the exact same content, just thought meh it's the internet, I've seen clones n mirrors.

I never got as nostalgic about it as others, but I've changed back to typing mk5.org in the past few years as it's easier/shorter. The site's bookmarked, but for when I'm on other computers.

I've seen many users come n go. I may hate people in general, but I miss you as I get used to your presence in my routine. Good discussion n arguments, great info. It's been a fun ride.

Just skimmed through all the pages, realized I never replied to this. I'm probably one of the, if not THE only one of the oldest vets left here lol. MK5.org helped me re-establish my connection to Mortal Kombat after MK4 wasn't so popular, by then I kinda lost interest in videogames in general. I was recovering from an accident where I couldn't walk for 6 months, my mom bought me a laptop in '99 (they were crazy expensive, I was one of the lucky ones to have one), and I started looking for future MK info.

I've been visiting this site since 1999 or 2000. I remember it was just a very basic website with a mock up of a MK5 logo. It wasn't confirmed if a MK "5" was actually in the making or not. There was a long drought of no info (MK4 was released in '97 I believe?) so we had no idea if MK5 was in production. Then in 2000 or 2001, Midway released 2 images, one of Quan Chi in a dark background in front of a fortress, and Jax fighting Scorpion in the Acid Buddha stage. Man I stared at those images for hours, days, weeks, and months until Deadly Alliance came out in 2002. I'm sure I wasn't the only one desperate haha.

The forums were of a different site provider, can't remember the name... Game, something. I had a different username back then, HumanCyrax00. Then when the forums changed I made ShaolinChuan, I wanted to base my username off of my favorite character who uses Shaolin Fist (or Chuan in Chinese), Kung Lao. Fighting styles were first introduced in MK5 / Deadly Alliance, and Kung Lao used Shaolin Fist.

I still type in MK5.org to this day. I'm probably going to be here for a while, or until I get banned (or maybe not, I've always been on good behavior, I just cuss a lot).

And wow at a 11 year old thread resurrection. Time flies.

This isn't the only "How long have you been here/When did you join MKO?" threads,
I'm sure you've replied to one of the others. Good to hear though, regardless.

There have been quite a few over the years, like the "What does your username mean/How did you get your username?" threads.

In other words, I've spent half my life as a registered user on this site.

Don't post nearly as much as I used to. Was incredibly disappointed with the direction of MKX. Still lurk occasionally.

Been visiting since 1999, made an account I believe in 2002 when Deadly Aliance came out. I remember seeing an ad that said "mk5.org" with Scorpions eyes and the infamous pic of Scorpion fighting Jax in what looked like some CGI screenshot. I was a HUGE MK fan in the 90's so I would browse the site religiously for any news. Too bad MK:DA ended up being my least favorite game in the series but I met a lot of cool users way back in the day that I still keep in touch with from time to time. I would love to catch up with Hyuga, Blade, Masta, genitalvazquez and SubScorptile. We had some hilarious chats back then.

Those SST interviews were absolute gold, lots of users got to show some personality and their humor. SST took those jokes like a champ. I completely forgot about the nKo u til you mentioned it hahaha. Fun times.
