Important Safari and Firefox Question: Please HELP! (Pictures inside)
Hey guys,
So, no matter how much research I've done I can't seem to find the way to remove these options from my Mac's Firefox and Safari Main menu:
For Firefox:

I'm talking about the Preferences Option that's available when you click Firefox in Macs.
For Safari:

I'm talking about the Preferences, Private Browsing, Reset Safari and Empty Cache Options that are available when you click Safari in Macs.
I am trying to either:
Remove or
Disable or
Hide or
Delete
all of them.
Can anyone please help? Thanks!

I keep reading about an Xcode Tools program.
is it any good?

Because I need it for protection/security.

Hey queve, I did some research and found the following:
Look here for info on how to remove the "Preferences" item in Firefox, via an add-on.
And for Safari, I found this thread with the last post detailing how to disable the "Preferences" item at least. Cant find anything for the other 3 items you mentioned, but maybe this method will also work for the other 3 options? Maybe this isn't what you're looking for but it's the best I could find for Safari. Unless of course you just want to hide the menu bar in Safari, which can also be done in FF and I can help you with.
If you don't mind me asking though, can you tell me what it is you're trying to protect/secure, that way I or someone else might be able to recommend a better solution for what it is you're trying to achieve. Hope I've been of help.

Its not what I'm looking for, but, thank you for your help.
The first link you gave me is extremely useful but I had already download/used that program. It really helped with just one part of the problem. Its super good for removing/deleting the "clear history/cache/etc" options.
However, now I need to see how I edit/disable those options pictured above (in the Firefox and Safari menus) because that program is useless when those options are still made available. You can still do all of that if those menus remain the same. I only altered the bar menu, not the main one.
I need to do this for personal reasons, long story short: someone keeps deleting the entire browsing history, cache, cookies, etc by simple clicks and I need all that information intact.
Thanks for your help! let me know if you find my solution.
Xcode tools might be the answer if everything else fails. Anyone know?

The short answer here is that you can't remove that menu option. I have a Mac and I've tried every which way to remove it, no dice. Best advice I can give is password lock your computer or make a separate user account for this person, since I don't think they can delete your browsing history from a separate account.

I was going to recommend this earlier, but I wanted to know what version of OS X he was using, so if he needed instructions on how to make separate user accounts, I could link to a guide that shows how to do that for whatever OS he's using.... because I'm not sure if the procedure is the same for all versions of OS X supporting user accounts. Since I use a Windows machine, I can't test this stuff directly.
m0s3pH and queve, you guys might be interested in this. I found this wiki about Safari on macrumors.com.
Apparently Xcode tools should come in handy here queve. Again I can't test these things directly, but according to the wiki you can disable and remove the Private Browsing option.
Here's another alternative queve. In Firefox, you can create what's called a "profile", that basically saves your personal settings in Firefox's profile folder, which is created when you install FF. In this, you would be creating a separate profile for whomever is trying to delete your browsing history. I would log them into their profile once you have finished with YOUR profile session. Here's another wiki with info on how to manage and access profiles.
Let me know if any of this helped you guys.

I don't actually have the problem that queve is suffering from, as I'm the only one who uses my computer. I was simply trying trial and error for him to see if something worked.
I'm running Leopard, btw.

Oh, ok
But since you made mention to trying to remove those menu options yourself with no luck, I thought this might be of help to you, in case you were looking for a solution. But apparently you're not. And if anything I said sounded rude, I in no way meant it in that form. That's the thing about internet forums, things can be interpreted differently since there is no real feeling attached to text, unless you are explicit.
Thank you guys for your help, but, I'm still dealing with this issue. I appreciate your time!
I use a MacBook Pro.
And yes, I am definitely looking to remove/block/delete those things (pictured above).
I'm not looking for creating separate accounts or stuff. I need a secure way to keep track/record saved in the computer of every single website that is being accessed.
I need those files to remain stored in the computer.
Any thoughts?
That program that I wrote about earlier looks like it might solve this issue. But, maybe someone can confirm for sure? Or someone can think of something else?
Much appreciated.
Thanks guys!
