Sad to see another respected user go. I agree with some of your decisions to go, so is understandable.

However, I don't think you should call yourself "the creator" of the drive by thread. That idea was Takermk's, so he should be given ALL the credit. You just reopened a thread that was closed because of the fights on those previous threads. I think the person with the original idea should get all the credit, however that's my personal opinion.

Well I guess it is time for an actual post in this, other then me just saying that I will see my now departed brother when I return to our house.

Let's see... Well he got me to this site for one thing. He did his job amazingly while he had it. If he thought someone was doing something wrong, he didn't ignore the chance to tell them they are wrong (Even if they were of same rank as him). If he thought someone was doing their job horribly, he let them know.

He did a lot here but things like Ladder Kombat and Fight Klub seem to have minimal participation because Halloween Costumes seem to be more important than having us join together to play the game. Wasn't the Ladder Kombat news lead up for 24 hours or less before it was replaced by something? *sigh* I'm not saying this just in defense for my brother or anything, I am saying it because something that people could have really been involved in, seemed to be a flop because not many people knew about it.

It's sad to see you go, man. Your posts had a good balance of diplomacy and no-bullshit, and that's an effective writing style I see just about never. I wasn't able to get my shit together Thursday, but I still look forward to playing more casuals with ya on Xbox Live.

As for the site stuff, I don't know enough to have an opinion, but the lack of tournament attendance was really frustrating. In that regard, I'm more disappointed in MKO as a community. I don't blame you for being disappointed: you wanted to run a tournament, and you ended up policing no-shows and constantly pushing back deadlines.

Again, I'm not sure what happens behind the curtains these days, but I'm not really convinced this site has much of a demographic anymore. Modern fighting gamers see fighters as a utilitarian product, like a tournament game or something to put on at parties. The fans, as in a small cult of people who celebrate the game as a piece of art or fiction, are a dying breed... and yet that's who I always thought MKO was trying to target.

I don't know if you are going to read these posts, but I do have something to say so I will try to keep it short.

I feel I have let you down concerning my ill-fated efforts in forum organization and in the Strategy Zone sticky I made. I loved MK9 and I'm sorry I missed the forum most of the remainder of that time. but PSN went down and I lost interest. my threads seemed to be going nowhere but I did little to stop it so in a very small way I feel partially responsible for your departure. This saddens me because this is the only forum I have set foot in that remains kind to me and has users that respect me.

On Mortal Kombat Online, (and the game/its developers) as a whole I would like to say this:

With the mass globalization and corporatization of the video game market. Money is now the only driving force behind so-called creative content. This can only go so far until money runs low (MK5-Midway's demise). So even with the new game. Mortal Kombat's hardcore fanbase is essentially dead. (I told CHT that his whole chu-shinn thing would fall appart due to a lack of people.. and it has so.) With the death of the massive numbers of hardcore MK fans. we few diehards remain. but As with my tenure at Quake 3 World. I know all good things must come to an end and Mortal Kombat has perhaps reached that point in terms of internet forum penetration.

If Ed Boon and all the other greats of gaming didn't have to rely on the all mighty dollar for their craft to come to life, this would have been a fate we would not have had to suffer. I will hang on to this site as long as I continue to be treated as a human being.
