I get music from the entertainment section of another forum I go on. Whenever a chick releases a new album or song, or it leaks, or anything... someone posts it. And they're on the spot, so I get stuff very early.

I saw her video for Edge of Glory. I'm not a Gaga hater. As I've said, I do enjoy four of her songs. But this song isn't one of them. And I thought the video was done very poorly. It's so boring. And not even by Gaga's standards. Just overall, it seemed very poorly executed.

I got my fingers SUPER crossed for Government Hooker becoming her next single.

I'd love to see a video for that song. I think it'll really creepy and sexy, just like Lady Gaga.

This is just my opinion MQS baby, but Gaga needs a break. Seriously. To take a break gave Britney the edge, I'm sure it will do the same to Gaga. Her latest cd was, well, disappointing to say the least. She is an amazing singer, composer, dancer and artist overall and I have the greatest respect for her. Lady Gaga I used to adore you, what have you DONE?! At least you don't officially suck... but still... I can't believe you just said that about Will.I.Am...... I'm starting to get a bit worried.

Lady Gaga doesn't seem to be doing very well on the charts anymore.

In fact, the only song of hers that's doing somewhat well is The Edge of Glory, which is still in the Top 10 on the Billboard Hot 100, now at 6, with a previous of 7, and a peak of 3.

After 8 weeks, Judas is at 92, with a previous of 78, and a peak of 10.
After 18 weeks, Born This Way is at 49, with a previous of 37, and a peak of 1.


In only 3 short weeks, the album dropped from its #1 slot, now at 2.



This just ain't right. What the hell is going on, man? :(

-This is assuming the radio's won't block foreign swear words? I mean, people want (for some reason I'll never understand) yet another club banger, so give them Scheisse. It's the most well-recieved track on the album, so make it a single.

-Americano I think people are more comfortable with foreign verses in songs now and the outro to the song is hectic as fuck.

-Government Hooker... I mean some on, they put S&M on the radio, I'm sure people shouldn't be too butt hurt over GH.

-I'm mixed on Heavy Metal Lovers. Gaga's stanbase is torn on this one, that even though it's one of the most well-recieved tracks on the album, some people feel like it's not radio friendly. I feel like it's only going to prove that Gaga has variety. It's the most un-generic song on the album, so she should take the risk.

-And Marry the Night is a GIVEN. That must be a single and it's the perfect one to wrap up the era!






Breaks in the pop world can be very dangerous. The public doesn't get sick of artists like everyone thinks.

Since July of 2009 (That's... 2009) she has ALWAYS had a single or been featured in a single on the radio...
Run This Town > Russian Roulette > Hard > Rude Boy > Love The Way You Lie > Only Girl > What's My Name? > S&M > California King Bed/Man Down

Just 8 months before that she was on another single trajectory starting with Umbrella in 2007.

Even so, the queen of #1's continues to get number 1's. Hell, her last three singles got to number 1!



As far as Gaga goes... I don't know what you guys are talking about, Gaga is doing AMAZINGLY right now...
Her album debuted at number 1 in 23 countries and sits at #2 right now. Already reached 2.5 million sales

Born This Way the single debuted at number 1 with the highest first-week spins and iTunes sales in history, and stayed there for 6 weeks, and Edge of Glory debuted at #3, still in the top 10, and it only rising. It's blowing up on the radio!

The only single that underperformed was Judas because the radios just would not play it. How can a song reach the top if radio stations did even have the song on the request page?
Oh and plus, Judas, a flop, peaked at number 1 in dance charts XD
It also hit top ten on the billboards.
I mean.... come one, those would be very impressive peaks for anybody else.

I'm not really into the other songs, I'm but I'm super hooked for Government Hooker.



While I was happy to see the album debut at #1, I will admit that it was mostly due to the hype.

Like YingYeung had stated, Born This Way is somewhat of a disappointment. Even with The Fame, from which I only like five songs, I found myself crediting the songs I didn't like for good composition and/or lyrics. With her latest album, however, a lot of the songs on the album...

Well... they suck.

Lady Gaga is SO much better than this. The compositions in many of the songs sound like stuff a lowlife wannabe rapper would come up with. And the lyrics, while stylized with signature words and phrases, still lack the brilliant lyrical arrangement the other songs have, i.e. Judas, Bloody Mary, Black Jesus + Amen Fashion.


With this album, I think she's gotten way too controversial, and it's starting to backfire. In all honesty, I still love her lots, and I'll always be a Little Monster, but I loved her more when she was just a sexy creep, and not a crazy... monster.

The album sold over a million copies in its first week dude, I don't think that it was MOSTLY due to hype. Yeah, she hyped the shit out of it, but that's what people in the entertainment business do: they promote.
And people buy music because they have the intention of listening to it.

Calling Born This Way is a disappointment and saying the songs suck... well, there's nothing I can say to that. You're entitled to your opinion and we can't change each others emotions.

I do happen to disagree with you, because I think that this music is on par with the music on The Fame.
The Fame has killer smashes like Poker Face, Just Dance, and Paparazzi, while Born This Way also has smashes like Scheisse, Marry The Night and Bloody Mary.
The Fame had other stand-out songs like LoveGame, Boys Boys, Boys, and Money Honey, as does Born This Way with Government Hooker, Hair, and Heavy Metal Lover.
The Fame has fillers like I Like It rough, Summerboy and Paper Gangster, but Born This Way... not so much... every song has relavence to it, and the album is 17 songs long. If she felt like a song didn't belong then she could still remove it and make it 16 songs.

I don't understand what you mean about the bad composition at all, but I the lyrics... come on dude... The lyrics on Born This Way serve their purpose just as the lyrics on The Fame do.

The controversy on the album... well, the only one I agree with you on is Black Jesus. The idea of the song is ridiculous and doesn't make sense. Even though everything else is great, I don't get why she included Jesus in the song. Everything else fits right in though.




Anyway, if you're not happy with the album, I don't know what to tell you, I hope you do come around, but her fan base loves it, and Born This Way's numbers are still very good worldwide.

She has yet to release her best songs from the album so the numbers have no way to go but up.

I actually remember that people were saying the same thing about The Fame Monster. That it's awful compared to The Fame and she's not at her potential.
