Agreed. Never really got into the whole myspace/ facebook crap. It just seems like a waste of my time to post a picture of myself and write random things that I just did. *Just saw the Hangover 2* YEAH!!!!! lol. When people can't get someone else to take a picture of them, they take a picture in their bathroom, all dressed up lol. Yeah check my status on that. Just took a piss and got ready for this pic.Fuck bookface all together. All that shit's for attention whores.

it's not that bad, if you have a youtube link up as your status i don't find it wrong at all to like it, or having a quote you like and clicking the like button to it. the "like" button is there for your personal use so use it as you see fit i say.
What is it with people overreacting to things on Facebook? I know someone who literally makes statuses about people doing things on Facebook he doesn't like.
Honestly, if you let things on Facebook bother you that much, you've become too attached to it.

I don't mind if people like their own status. However, these are the three things that annoyed me the most on facebook:
- Baby pictures. I know you love your baby, but I don't need to see him/her everytime they do something "cute".
- Self-promoter. I know you love your job, but I don't care if you won a medal, got a promotion, or whatever.
- Obsessed whore. I got some people on my list that are obsessed with a particular thing and about 80% of their status are about the particular thing their obsessed about. It's ridiculous.
And yes, I have blocked their updates, because they're annoying.

I got on Facebook to keep in touch with my family, who's spread across the U.S.
Many of them don't have working cell phones, so Facebook is all they got. I actually ended up finding many old friends and new family through Facebook.
You may not like it, but it helped me out a lot.

Same here.
Facebook is what you make of it. If you let it be a cool place to keep in touch with people you actually want to hear from, it'll be awesome.
If you're cynical or something, and you don't want to keep in touch with people or you have accepted too many people you don't care about to your account, then of course you aren't going to enjoy it as much.

Yes, but you are in the minority. 99% of people these days use facebook as a popularity contest. They get all the friends they can (as long as you've seen a person once, they're your friend of facebook), they yap about their moods, and post useless shit about themselves and yada yada.
It's the same way it was back when Myspace was the hip thing. 1. Get friends 2. Post shit 3.???? 4. Profit socially
You, on the other hand, use it for what it should be. An outlet for friendly communication. But that's not exactly what it is any more.

Precisely. Chatting with a few really good friends, with whom due to certain inabilities I can't contact in person, is always a relief. As a matter of fact, a friend of mine invited me to go out just yesterday via facebook chat.
Boistering with semi-retarded photos and inarticulate statuses, though, is a waste of time as well as a manner of demeaning yourself in front of hundreds of people. Then again, a moron usually gathers but morons, so the disgrace would likely be of little notice.

I definitely agree on this. People that post a picture like of them, with a friend or something and their like omg <3 and all that is really kind of dumb because they do it ALL THE FUCKING TIME. What's the point? I have a phone that has facebook so lets take 100 photos? Like wtf.

I, too, have a problem with people doing things on the internet that don't disrupt my way of life in any fashion.
Honestly, it's like this...
Some people. such as myself, have it due to college. I have this to stay close with friends who are away at colleges as well as keeping contact with my family when I'm gone for the school year. Let's be honest, I don't like talking on the phone that much, IM on Facebook is much better.
I like to update my status from time to time, not because it's to let people know my daily life, but to make people laugh and get amused. I have funny moments happening in my life, I'd like to make people laugh with what I have to say.
I do like to post pictures, mostly my artwork, mostly the time I have spending with my boyfriend. It's another place to store pictures instead of saving it all to a flash drive, using up all its space and moving onto another one.
Will I continue having Facebook? Probably, but kicking off a lot of people that I don't talk to anymore once I'm through with college and just use it to keep in contact with real close friends and family. I'm most likely going to be moving in with my boyfriend around this time next year, I want to keep this just to keep in contact with the parents and such.
I did delete 450 friends already after moving on from high school and first year of college. I had those who added me just because I attended the school or they just know me by walking pass me. Though, I will not be doing that again.
You just can't be addicted to the site like most are. If you let these things bother you, then yes, you're are addicted to the site, no matter how many times you're going to deny it. If you have to make such a big deal out of the most pathetic thing as to liking your own status, then you spend way too much time on Facebook to let it irritate you.

It's not pathetic if you like what the status is about or if it's a video you like or something you like, for example:
Status: My fav athlete won gold medal today.
*clicks like button*
^^^
Nothing stupid about that.
Exactly
Baby pictures and obsessed whores get on my nerves too but what I hate the most is when someone changes status every 20 minutes so when I log in, all I see is her stuff in my news feed.... That and also those who use facebook to indirectly insult people and bash them... like this girl who kept dissing her ex every 30 seconds in her status.. if you're mad at someone tell him or her in private, not in front of everyone to try to look tough... anyway.

For real. Who care's if they can like their own status? It's their own business and it's 2 seconds so they may not even remember them doing it. Why does it bother you so much?

Liking your own comment on face book is pretty pathetic.
