I've ALWAYS been interested in all the 2012 theories, and I LOVED how The X-Files incorporated it into the storylines during the series finale ( Crow).

If I were to choose among all the theories, my pick would be the end of the world. Whether it's because of WW3 or an alien invasion or whatever, I do not know, but for their calendar to suddenly stop on that date (and their poplulation's disappearance) makes one think.

One site that I went to talked about how our earth was lacking the respect that it deserves and if we don't do something about it then when this thing happens it will be catastrophic. But if we give our earth respect then it will be good. And they talk about how everyone will play a part in this "new beginning", everyone will be important. So we're supposed to give mother earth the respect that she deserves and take a few moments to recognize her beauty sometimes.

Very interesting...I'm sure it's very closely related to whatever caused the disappearance of the Mayan society itself, though I'm not sure what it is...

But here's a really neat theory--wouldn't it be nuts if someone, between now and 2012, found a way to either purposefully or accidentally travel back TO the time of the Mayans, accounting for their disappearance, their extremely advanced civilization, and the ending of the map on the very time that intertemporal traveler arrived?

I always liked the Dec 21st 2012 theories. I remember I was watching one of those "discorvery" type programs, and it explained it like this:

According to the Mayans, on the 21st of December all the animals on Earth will go nuts and start attacking us humans. Not only will the animals go crazy, but so will all electrical appliances - anything from TV's to toasters.

Despite the illogical ideas, something about that program caught my attention - and I've never forgotten the date since.

Who knows,maybe it can be biblical related with the Apocalypse and the Anti Christ

Since their is a 7 year tribulation in the bible.....that could mean that the Antichrist could come next year in 2005 along with the Rapture and WW3 killing everyone on earth and letting Jesus and God waging war on the Anti christ (basically Heaven vs Hell). In the Bible, Jesus and God win the war and enslave the Anti Christ for 1000 years in the deepest bowels of hell as Jesus creates the new Kingdom of God in Jerusalem.

I doubt it will happen next year,but who knows,anything can happen

This is based on the end of the world in the Bible by the visions seen by John in the book of Revelation

If you have a bible go read the last book, its very interesting and is the only book Ive read from the Bible

Again this is a Christian prophecy,so you can choose to believe it or not or believe whatever you believe is going to happen.

anyway you put it huimans are doomed to be fucked and were gonna kill are each other or a catoastrophic thing will happen. i really dont beleive any of those therieos cause that brings up the question how do they know? how do they know that earth will be gone and humans and everything with it? we'll never know went through there minds and if they had some sort of proliphical power. anyway the way my life is turning out to be i kinda welcoming the end. 2012 does sound like a good year for WW3 to start because of what busch has done. taking out iraq just beccause he thought there were weapons of mass destruction but he was just blowing shit out of his mouth and he just wanted to finsh what his dad didnt do. because we searched iraq with out of alot of support that can contribute to WW# and iraqi's hating us for occuping. also the tension overalll in the middle eastr with muslims and jews are building and fighting overland which is supposley holy well atleast to them but not me, its just dirt and sand out there so really means nothing to me. north korea having nukes and they could help fuel this tension and start WW3. but 2012 means nothing really. it could mean something but we'll just have t wait and see. hell people believe in nostradaums and all the things hes predicted has come true in the eyes of the people who follow his word.its all about perspective. perspective on what numbers and unexplainable thing mean. some people believe ghost and some don't. but scientfic speaking yes we are about due for a big cange like another ice age or a wipeout.

there were these crystal skulls that were discovered and researchers say that there are more to be found.look up Amethyst Crystal Skulls.

About the December 2012 theory, I hope it's evolution. Like every person on Earth has superpowers, and what not. And I'd hate for that date to be the day the world ends, because then I'd just be 19 years old! I'd actually like to go to college and get a good job and a wife and kids and grandkids and great-grandkids, and die of very old age.

But Human Evolution at Christmas 2012 sounds nice. I could, like, have x-ray vision and see through the presents. Sweet...

I saw that program. It was called Prophecy. Yeah, they say it would be December 21, 2012. They also said that it happened 3 times before and that the last time it happened was in the 1500's when the Mayan was wipped out. From existence. So..if this is true, how are you going to prepare for it?

I have to admit I love end of the world theories, and hate them at the same time. On one hand, I find it fascinating how there can be some kind of event that defies science, physics, and can shatter the knowledge we think we have. The thought that these ancient civilizations might actually have been smarter, more mystical, whatever, than we give them credit for really brightens my day.

The flip side to this is of course how we'd all die.

Of course I'm rooting for that evolution theory... seriously, as someone who believes in evolution, how could we do so much evolving over a relatively brief period of time then just sort of flat line. I've been waiting over 6000 years for us to evolve again. Where's my wings already?

Honestly, I've never given much care to the Mayan predictions. In many cases, they've been credited for predicting things because "They're predictions were so close to actual date!" Yeah, they may have only been a few years off, but almost right is still wrong. It's also debatable if the events they did predict were the same ones that occured.

But I'll keep an open-mind. I'll have my eyes opened 2012.

One day after my 26th birthday. Not a landmark birthday, but a birthday nonetheless. Man, I'd hate to lose the world on account of my birthday.
