Well I wouldn't believe any of those kind of theories. Remember, there was a year 6/6/0006, and a 6/6/1006, so when 6/6/2006 comes along nothing will happen.
It's like the end of the world at 2000. Most people who believed in that judgement day would come at the turn of 2000 seemed to forget that there was a millenium change in 1000 as well...

One thought I had(or maybe I just read it somewhere)is that we obviously won't wake up that morning and be a new evolved person, but certain things or ideas might come into play and allow us to open our minds to new possibilities which will allow us to start the new era of our evolution.
another thing:somebody said something about the predictions being wrong because they were a few years off. You have to take into consideration that they had a different calendar then the one we use. Some are less days, some more. So the scientists(or whoever)have to try to match up their calendar with ours. So there could be a small margin of error. just a thought

1: how do we even know that this prediction is from this reality (im a believer in multiple scenarios) (parralell)

2: how do we know that the mayans arent time travalers i mean the mayans could be time travalers from the futer who knows

3: why that date? why 2012? whats the significance of it?

also something interesting i found a link on psp message bourds about someone who had time traveled and he said that by next yr we will be in world war 3 now part of me believes him the other part thinks its b.s because some stuff he predicted actually came true so teh i dunno

and the crystal skull thing that was in stargate remember? i believe its from an alien race maybe that lived here before us? who knows anyway thats me done i think
