Kill Bill (1-2) BETTER be nominated.

Uma Thurman disserves a nomination for BEST ACTRESS.

That movie is just amazing.

The Passion of the Christ SHOULD win, but I doubt it will.

The Academy will definitely vote for a "safe" movie.

Did any movies come out this year have a mentally challenged person in it? Cause if it did, then that's the one getting the Oscar.

Except for the part where she was buried and that few minutes in the end of Vol.2 where she finally broke down and showed another emotion beside anger or hatred. She'll probably get a nod for best actress.

"The Passion" has all the makings of a best picture winner. I doubt they'll give it farenheit 911.

Man Jesus makes bank between all the bumper stickers, braclets and Movies...*is waiting for Passion II: Jesus' Revenge*

You have a good point there, so it looks like Fahrenheit 9/11 is going to win best picture.

Uhhh what are you talking about?
I loved his movies, I thought they were great, and should win best film

but Uma's acting isn't the best unless everyone just sucked this year

as we know from history, how much money a film makes does not determine if it will win, but more on politically motavated choices and films ppl might not even like

Fareinheit 911 would get a New Yorker's vote for Oscar and I bet I would vote for it too if I seen it. I joined the fire department for some time and I tell you I met some of the best people ever in my life. I never seen the movie but I did see parts of it and it captures the experience on being in the bay and getting ready to take on a fire especially if you are a rookie.

The fire department is more like a brotherhood of individuals and they become real close, its like a family and everyone gets together and just hangs out when they are not on their shifts. I was in training to become a fire fighter but I decided that I would not become one, but it was a great experience.

you guys are missing the point here.

he didnt submit F911 for best documentary because he wants to try and put it on tv before the elections and a documentary cannot be on tv or on video within 9 months of its theatre release in order to be considered.

i hope he does get it on tv before the elections people need to see what they havnt been in the news and only then can you make a fair decision.

if after seeing f911 people are still for bush so be it...but refusing to see it cheating yourself out of some very necessary truth wich is scarce in the current media situation.

No documentery deserves an oscar.

there's still like 7 months of movies that could get in there, so I haven't made a decision yet.

I am hearing countless praises for Garden State though

Well, as far as Farenheight 911 goes, a lot of fiction movies HAVE won the Oscar before...

Seriously, you guys can't seriously say you believe that movie is the utter truth?

Come on, I pegged most of you as smarter than that, to be foiled by (continuously) disproven propoganda films, a la Michael Moore.

I know they are going to give it to The Terminal. I don't know why, the movie was ok (Tom Hanks was great in it, but Cathleen Zeta Jones REALLY detracted from the movie overall, as she was horrid in it!).

But watch Catwoman win sad

The funny thing is, that same film that is said to be propaganda pissed off so many Republicans. Why? It's not true at all, right?

The people who saw it because they hated Bush were already going to vote against him. Nothing changed after that movie.
