Thanks a lot for the IM/PM upgrade thing...
I have another suggestion though, what about bringing back the "outbox" so you can keep track of the messages you've sent?

It gets irritating when people waste forum bandwidth by raving on how a thread is going to be closed. The initiative thing is PMing a moderator but a lot can't muster the ability to do a simple task. So why not create a button where you can right away PM any moderator that is online? I seen this on other boards, is called "Report Bad Post."

The problem with that, Marcel, is that you automatically assume that just 'cause it says that a certain mod is online that he/she is browsing the forums AND will immediately notice the new PM at the precise moment the "bad post" was reported. After I hit the "Post Message" button, I'll go surf the XBC forums for a while. Will it say I'm still online for several minutes? Yes. Will I be paying attention to the threads and/or my Inbox? Nope.
If said feature was implemented, I can already picture people bitching (in a way, rightfully so; in another way, not at all justified) about how mods failed to do anything about a "bad post" despite being notified about it 10 minutes ago.

I was thinking to have some kind of reputation point things sort of like Dragon Points but only the reputation points are given out by other users. Sort of like a feed back for users. Where it says visits and all that stuff it should say "Reputation" then a + and a -. and users can click on either the + or - and add to the posters reputation. They wont count for anything like DP or Skulls it would just be something so people know some reliable posters.

That might be alright, but whoever leaves feedback should have to give a reason why they gave that certain type of feedback. That way, people won't be able to give others negative/positive feedback for lame reasons...

As in a space to type the reason or multiple choices to choose from?

Actually, we're allowing something a bit different from that. We're allowing sig/avatar images to have a combined file size limit of 120. For example, if your sig was 100kb and your avatar 20kb, that'd be okay. However, videos are not allowed, no matter what the file size. Craps up my browser every time.

Thanks for the info.
I'll never be shadowed again knowing this.

MKO needs something to pop up when you have new messages in your inbox. Because a lot of people dont check up there and important PMs go unread for days on end.

Or, we could choose if we want to be notified via e-mail whenever there's a new PM.

I think MKO should really start taking advantage of the "Shadow Priests" rank. Here's a quick idea I had about the whole thing...
Sub-Mod/Shadow Priest
Rating Posts:
- I think a good solution to [some of] the controversy about rating posts could be solved with my litte idea. I was thinking that maybe it should take two (2) sub-mods to actually give a post some points (good or bad). If a single sub-mod thinks that a certain post deserves dragon/skull points, he'd leave a "recommendation" type thing that would only be visible to other sub-mods. Then, when another sub-mod comes around and thinks that the post deserves dragon/skull points too, he'd have the abilty to do it instantly (because the other sub-mod left a "recommendation"). It would kind of be like each sub-mod has half of a whole rating...
I think this idea would help relieve the pressure on the mods from other members. Like if another member thinks he was given skulls unfairly, it'd be harder to dispute since more than one sub-mod agreed with the ruling...
- I was also thinking that if one sub-mod wanted to give a post 4 dragon points, but another sub-mod only wanted to give it 3, the whole number could be averaged to "3 and 1/2". And if one sub-mod wanted to give a post dragon points, but another sub-mod wanted to give it skulls, the final points (the ones that actually count) wouldn't come out until a third sub-mod posted his/her rating. Like if someone wanted to give a post 2 dragon points, and someone else wanted to give it 3 skull points, and then another mod wanted to give it 1 skull point, the final rating would be 2 skull points...

I was thinking that maybe there should be a quota system for the amount of DPs given out. If there's a limit to how many DPs that can be given out by Sub-Mods/Mods/Gods in a specific amount of time (example: only 30 per month), then this could solve the problem of "useless" threads/posts getting points.
It'll make the sm/m/g think more carefully on deciding whether or not a post really deserves so many points, or whether the points should be saved for another more-deserving thread/post.

The pm system still isn't working. I have 2 people telling me they sent me PM's a few days ago, and I never recieved either of them.
About Me
To anyone who cares, I'm not banned. I left of my own accord. This place is dead to me now.

Okay, now I checked both this thread AND the Community FAQ thoroughly, and nowhere did I see anything about how many pages back a thread has to be before it is considered "bumped". I always thought anything beyond two pages was off-limits, but I'm hearing it's five from other members. Maybe this is common knowledge, but not to me. I think it would be helpful if a thread's "expiration date" were explicitly stated in the Community FAQ.
I think mods should give members like 3 strikes to those who breaks forum rules like first is a warning, second would be ban for a amount of time and third would be banned and the ip addy would be recorded and when ever they try to return as another name the mods would know with a record of spammers ... ne one likes this idea

My only beef is with the DP system and how their given out heaps to the Fan sumbmission forum. I thought DP's were given out to thought provoking threads.....? Dont get me wrong they take effort but dishing out DP's in the fan forum so often is like Steve Nash dishes out assists to Stoudamire
its too much.

Well, I wouldn't mind making a new username, but I would MUCH prefer the coding going through, lol.
