Heads up for anyone logging in -- recent updates to java mean you may need to add http://www.mortalkombatonline.com to your exceptions list before running the MKO Chat Applet. It may seem intimidating at first, but it's fairly simple.

Steps for updating Exception List:

- Open your Java Control Panel (From the Start menu)
- Select the Security tab.
- Choose Edit Site List
- Click Add and add the full http://www.mortalkombatonline.com URL.
- OK to save settings.

Then, when running the applet, select any appropriate run options from prompts that may come up. Do Not Block, Run, etc. If you're using a program like mIRC etc to access the network, none of this will apply to you.

I know there have been running changes to Java that have made connecting using the site applet less straight forward [notes above].

As always, if you're using a program like mIRC etc, you shouldn't have any trouble logging on. Over the past few years we've been on irc.chat-solutions.org (server). The channel is still #mortalkombat. [This info is in the chat FAQ]

As always -- anyone connecting should remember the basic universal principle: Not everyone is logged on all the time. If you want to catch a busy period, you'll have to give it more than 5 minutes. Say hi, start a convo, and you might improve your odds. [If nobody's around and you're registered, you can always screw around with the chat game.]
