Most overrated and underrated actors and filmmakers.
Most overrated director has to be Nolan. I am not impressed all that much by the Dark Knight trilogy. Still a good director, but Orson Welles he is not.
Not exactly overrated or underrated, but terribly forgotten is Peter Weller. Buckaroo Banzai and Robocop, people. Speaking of Robocop, Ray Wise is a SOLID choice for TV entertainment (Twin Peaks: Leland Palmer, The Devil, Leon Nash from Robocop...)
ALSO:
Why only actors from the United States or the Anglosphere? Since Hollywood is is decay, I think you should really look into foreign films.

That ending was exactly what I was hoping for. A slight nod to religious origin, while still concluding itself, properly. Not unexpected, but I enjoyed it.

@Casselman. the Knowing was a brilliant and superb movie with everything right except that really stupid ending.

ARE you CRAZY!? The ending felt totally tacked-on out of the blue. It's like Indiana Jones and the crappy skull. They should have left us wondering about what was in the crate rather than revealing the WORST idea ever. For an example of a film doing "aliens as religious origin" right, nothing beats The Fifth Element. It has the set-up in the beginning and a futuristic/sci-fi setting.
