I have noticed that in the past couple days just about everyone is getting DP's on their posts, even when they aren't saying anything useful. Not that I give a damn or am complaining, just wondering if the matters in which you receive said points has altered?

I love that you got a dragon point for that post. Oh the irony.

It hasn't changed at all. They're just being generous I suppose. They don't really hand them out a whole lot.

I really don't care what this site does with dragon points. We don't get to see how many we get them and I really didn't noticed that i changed into a warrior a few months back. I don't really care what this site does, as long as it's still up and running and providing us new information when the time is needed, I'm fine with whatever the mods choose to do with their point system.

I tend to agree. I don't think ranks really matter as much. I see as many respectable users that are mortals as there are of the higher ranks. It really doesn't matter what a person's rank is, it's their posts that count.

I am not arguing that point either, IceBaby. I just enjoy reading thought provoking posts and getting up to date on my favorite game. I just had simply noticed and was curious. That's all.

Dragon Points are supposed to be issued for "positive contributions to the community", and for me that is supporting a healthy and friendly discussion within the forums. The rules haven't changed; this is how they are supposed to be given out.

They didn't really matter back then so why would they matter now?

I think we should make dragon points gold.
Who ever heard of a blue shower?

Dragon points were always "for fun" and nothing more, if that's what you mean. That hasn't changed. These recent ratings were just my way of saying, "I appreciate the good discussions you guys are having on my forums, keep it up!".

The rules didn't change, but perhaps the effort in enforcing them has.

The forums are probably being checked/moderated more frequently and more attentively now thats there a regular influx of new info on MK, making the forums generally busier (an not just in the MK2011 forum), having more threads etc, therefore more recognition goind round in the form of Dragon points. It gets like this in the run up to, and a good while after, new games releases, then in quieter lulls, theres less threads and therefore less debates etc thereofre less Dragon Points (generally).

No, I don't think it's anything nearly that complicated.
The bar has just been significantly lowered, is all. Significantly.

As far as I can tell, it doesn't apply to every thread, or every page of a thread that it does, or every post in a page in a post that it does. It's kinda like a portal known only to sorcerers and deities, I guess. You don't have to do much, but you have to know where to do it.

Feels like I been microwaved, or somethin! Heehoo!

It's on the IMDB movie boards. Where thoughtful posts go to die.

LOL

I don't understand why you're laughing, man...

If you want DPs, you just have to know where to do it.
There are a couple of avenues available to you, in different combinations for DPs. If you want a lot of DPs you'll have to do it more regularly. You might have to go places you normally wouldn't to find people who will help you get DPs. Personally, I think too many DPs is a bad thing, though. It's just not going to feel special if you get a DP every day. I think it's much more realistic to get a DP once a month.

Okay. Well, I'm just trying to help you get DPs, man.
Personally, it's not really my thing, but if you're that keen for some serious DP action... Who am I to judge?

Mods and sub-mods give them. Anyone below their ranking doesn't hand them out, but they can receive them by doing something nice on here ooooooor having a big long elaborated post on some topic thing.
