The police have issued more details on the murder of Stefan Pakeerah, and the involvement of Manhunt.
A copy of the game was not found at the killer's house, but at the home of the 14-year old victim.
"The motive for the murder was robbery," said a police spokesperson.
"We've stated that, but some sections of the media chose to ignore it."
Also Manhunt re-entered the Top 40 at number 14 in the UK pushing it ahead of other "evil" games The Suffering and Hitman Contracts.
So there really isn't such a thing as bad publicity

HAAA!!!!
well that just puts a whole new spin on the whole case. as sad as it may be that a 14 old kid got murdered, they have just blown this video game shit really out of porportion and for the police to find the game which they claimed was the cause of the 17y/o boy murdering their son in his own room is well pretty funny, to be honest. in the best possible taste of cause.

Media: Evidently the childs eratic and violent behavior came from this game called Manhunt.
Cops: Actually, it was the victim's game, not the murderer.
Media: That's what we said!! rockstar and their evil games corrupt our youth.
Cops: No, you don't understand. We believe the murderer possibly came to steal the game from the victim. But the violence in the game had nothing to do with the murder.
Media: Yes, I agree. Burn, Rockstar, burn!!!
So, did I basically nail what is going on here?

Manhunt is one of my favorite games of all time.
*sigh*
My definitions for Media and Politicians(specifically Joe Lieberman and Jack Thompson)- Morons who refuse to blame children's violent acts on bad parenting, but instead blame it on violent video games.
Anyone want to take a guess on how long after Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas comes out that the media will blame THAT for some crime a kid commited?

I'll give it about 10 minutes. Just one thing, how can they blame crimes on video games when violent games weren't invented in, say, Prohibition, lots of killing and stealing there, yet no one blamed gangster movies.
JadeDragon, that was the funniest, and the most truthful thing I've heard so far on this thread.

Because, as that moron Jack Thompson says, video games are "interactive".....which is no excuse. He sued 2live Crew, or some rap group, for their lyrics, so it's obvious that something happened and the parents(and him)blamed their lyrics. And last I checked, rap, or ANY music, wasn't interactive.
