I was unaware that watching t.v. was so fucking difficult. Don't get me wrong, technologically, it's impressive. I just don't want it. I definitely don't want it on a gaming console.
Always on Internet connection. Personally I can go either way on this. I log onto live and psn every time I'm on anyway. But this isn't doing any favors for people with crappy/no internet(yep, they exist). Especially after hearing that developers can take advantage of cloud computing for assets in game. Where does that leave the game visually? Will the cloud scale for crappy internet?
I am not shocked about Microsoft charging for used games. I am shocked by the reports of charging FULL price for said games. Enjoy used games while you still can.
Always on Kinect camera. What in the fuck? That freaks me out and I don't see how people can be excited for this. I'm not of the super paranoid conspiracy theorist variety, but that shit makes me uncomfortable.
I'm not going to knock them for lack of games yet, I'll wait till E3 to see what's happening with that, but early on...I'm not optimistic.

Its not a used game they are charging full price for. From what I've read this is how it will work:
Lets say you bring a game over a friends house because he doesn't have it. You load it onto his system (since all Xbox One games have to be loaded onto the system's hard drive). Aas long as you're logged into his system, he can play it without paying a fee. Now lets say he wants to get his own copy of the game. Rather than going out to a retail store and buying another copy of the game for himself, since your copy is loaded onto his system, he can purchase an activation code (retail price, or whatever MS is going to charge) for himself to play the game and not have to have you logged into his system in order to play it.

Looks like shit. Sounds like shit. Yeah...nope

Overall...I didn't care for it.

That pretty much sums it for me too. I'm very paranoid and OCD, this will affect me purchasing an Xbox One. It's bad enough you have cameras everywhere you fucking go, be it work, school, train, bus, whatever.... but my living room? fuck you microsoft. I am not allowing this by any means. And I'm pretty sure there's a way that the government might be watching gamers through this. Talk about invasion of privacy.
Second, I hate that there needs to be an internet check once per 24hrs, at least not always online but still. The only problem I have with that is, I mainly play single player games besides fighting games, I have no interest whatsoever in multiplayer functionalities. Why should my console need to connect to the internet? so that they know I'm not hacking their stupid game? fuck that. Anyone remember hurricane Sandy? my area took a big hit, I was out of cable service and some parts of my house lost power, while some was retained. I was able to play my PS3 and Xbox360.... OFFLINE MOTHER FUCKER!!!
Third, I have no interest in these new features, and though I admit they're cool as shit, it just makes Xbox1 look like an entertainment device other than a gaming console. A device that takes over your difficult to get your fat ass up and pick up a remote and click a damn button. I was impressed at how the screen changes from TV to gaming to whatever else instantly, not gonna lie. I just feel like if another company like Apple did something like this, people wouldn't be raging. The funny thing is, I knew this was going to happen. Xbox had recently been in favor to too many non-gaming crap. If I want to listen to music, why would I turn my Xbox on? I have my computer and ipod and other shit I can listen to it on. You know what I mean?
Lastly, the only bit of news that gives me some hope is the announcement of Killer Instinct 3. But even still, looking ahead until when MK10 comes out, as it's the only game I truly will buy a next gen console for, will most likely be on all platforms anyway. I've already made my decision, PS4 is where it's at.

I get that, but they're going to force you to install the game on the hard drive, wouldn't it stand to reason that some form of one time verification would be loaded and synced to your account with the game. Theoretically, that means a used copy (once loaded on another h.d.) won't be able to sync to an account without paying for some form of product key. Hopefully it won't be full price, but, what's to stop them?
All this is here say at this point since Microsoft is mismanaging the fuck out of this firestorm, but that's what I, and a lot of others are taking away from this. I hope I'm wrong.
@shaolinchuan, my sentiments exactly. I hate to have my mind made up at this stage in the game, but I'm absolutely leaning way towards Sony at this point in time.

Nintendo is comprised of three Japanese words. Nin, Ten, Dou, and when combined it means we kicked the holy shit outta Atari.
And with Microsoft having fired the first shot against used games, that leaves Sony and GameStop to respond. GameStop, wanting to protect it's core business, could give this generation to Sony on a silver platter if it refuses to stock Xbox One to any great extent. No way in hell the retail giant wants the One's business model to be remotely successful.
We'll see what happens. Regardless, I don't expect console sales this upcoming generation to be anything close to the 360/PS3/Wii. Between the economy, bloated game budgets, and the insane product saturation, I think we're going to see a hell of a lot less early adoption. If that's the case, it would be good news for Nintendo given the Wii U's horrific start.
Gamestop seems to have made a statement in contradiction to that: Gamespot - Gamestop: "Next-gen systems to launch at lower price point than current gen systems did"
So they are saying that the Xbox One and the PS4 will launch for less than $400 and $600 respectively.

-The kinect camera HAS to be on and plugged in all the time because it is now an essential part of the console (plus it won't ever turn off)
-Xbox arcade bought games will not transfer over, but entertainment bought apps will (WHY)
-HAS to be connected to internet for at least 24 hours to do most of its features (aka, if you don't have internet, you're fucked)

This puts a damper on things. Doesn't concern me too much, as I rarely buy used games, but i know a lot fo people will be pissed.
Apparently the only places you'll be able to trade in used Xbox One games will be authorized retail stores. They will have to plug their system into MS Azure system, so that when a used game is traded in it is wiped from the users account with MS and no longer have access to play it. This explains why the Xbox One will need constant internet access (at least once every 24 hours).
In addition both MS and the developers will get a cut of the trade in price. Stores like Gamestop are rumored to be left with as little as 10% of the trade in cost, with everything else going to MS and the developers. Stores like Gamestop will be free to charge what they want for the used Xbox One game, but it is rumored that a new Access code for the game will run gamers $52. The article makes no mention if this price includes the full cost of the game from Gamestop with a new access code or if it will be in addition to the retail cost of the game from gamestop.
I hate Gamestop as much as the next game, but as a business major, this is really crappy news for them if it is true. If i was the head of Gamestop, I'd simply flatout refuse the Xbox One at this point.

So what does that mean? Sounds like the person who sold it won't be able to play his game anymore. Or am I misunderstanding this simple concept.
And those mystery buttons have been revealed on what they do.
“The Menu button (on the right) will bring up context-specific menus which game and app developers can design to enhance the user experience,” Microsoft told IGN. “The Menu button could be used in scenarios such as bringing up in-game menus, showing video playback options, and accessing commands on the console’s user interface.”
The View button, meanwhile, “will change views or provide more information in games and apps. The function of the View button will be driven by developers. Possible uses of the View button include viewing a map during a role playing game, displaying a leaderboard in a first person shooter, and enhancing the navigation of the console’s user interface.”
Kay.

No your not. With games having a mandatory install to the systems hard drive. Without this measure in place, what would stop gamers from turning around and re-selling the game, since there would be no use for the game disk. Its a way for MS to verify that if a gamer is going to sell a game that they do loss access to it.
This could be either very good or very bad new for gamers, with this new used game policy.
Good news, in that IF Gamestop has agreed to only take a 10% cut of used games sales (something i seriously doubt), and the cost of used games including a new activation code is $52. It may force Gamespot to offer a more fair value for game trade-ins to gamers.

Anybody getting an Xbone?
I am. I order online with day 1 shipping, so it should be delivered tomorrow. I already picked up a play and charge kit, but I still need go to the store pick up some games though, as I split my order up. Which was kind of a stupid move on my part.
