As stated before, I didn't really know him, but that makes this no less sad for me. My heart goes out to the family he left behind, and I hope he has found peace.

I received an E-Mail from Potent's sister, stating this.
I waited before anouncing anything because I didn't know if it was true or not, so I then contacted Murdoink, and he confirmed to also having received two E-Mails from Potent's mother, stating the same.
Murdoink then updated MKWarehouse with this sad news, which he later removed because of conversations on IRC, saying it could be fake (being convinced by fake-proof submitted by more known chatroom figures, whom I won't name).

I then signed off (I still was convinced it was true).
Now (the next day), I wake up and see my post about this has been deleted, and DArqueBishop made this post.

Well, I'm just glad now most people know about his sad passing.

As I stated in the earlier thread, I am extremely sorry to hear that this has happened. Its a great tragedy, and his family will be in prayers. He was a good man, and he left us far too soon! He'll be greatly missed!

Even after we confirmed this late last night, I don't think it really hit me until I read the obituary that ]0MBAT just posted.

Man, I'm going to miss Potent. It's ironic how while in E3 we were talking about all of these fake suicide reports from MK people over the years, and now it's really happened. Now you'll all realize that death is nothing to joke about.

I sometimes wish I could have been even closer to Potent, I did consider him one of my friends online. One thing that really stood out about him was that he was ever so willing to help us here at Mortal Kombat Online. He would never say no, and he would work as hard as he could, unless he was busy. I'm very saddened, I'm truly going to miss him. I wish he would have tried talking to one of us before he did something like this, but some people just can't handle all of the preasures in life as well as otheres. My prayers go out to him and his entire family. You'll forever be missed Potent.

I didn't know Potent, but it's always sad when someone commits suicide, especially, as apparently in Potent's case, they leave behind a wife and child. My condolences go to his family and friends, especially his wife and child; and may he rest in peace.

That's weird; it says he was born December 29, 1983? His profile says 7/17/83. If 12/29 is the right date, strange, he was exactly a year older than me.

It really saddens me to read this, and i wish i had got to know him better. Once again we are left behind, while others pass on. I truly hope he finds peace in the afterlife, and that his family will do okay.

I really am honored after all this that on a couple occassions in which he was upset that he felt that he could confide in me. I really didn't know the intricate details of his life and personality, but I knew him well enough to call him a friend.

I'll really miss him.

It's kinda hard to really get to know someone inside and out from varying distances of the country and the world. As close as most of us are with each other, it always diffcult to tell each other and even our families certain things that go on in our daily lives. Sometimes people feel that they're alone with their problems. It's best to remember that there are people who will be there through whatever happens. I hope he has found peace in a better place.

I remember noticing he was down one time (about a month before leaving the net) and I told him if he needed to vent then talk to me. We talked once about how stressed he was and stuff, so I told him to take it easy, and not to fret too much... but damn. :( I want to cry now :(

Well, I met him 2 years ago in the Rok gamers board. He was and always will be a great of the MK boards. I never realised that he was depressed or sad for any reason, although it seamed odd that he kept leaving. The last time I talked to him was months and months ago. :(

Did they figure out how he killed himself? I don't like it when people kill themselves for no reason at all.

Ohh man dats a damn shame. Well he's gon be missed around here. I remeber out old N3xXxG3N days, and he said sumthin bout suicide then, but me and the fellow memebers thought he was bullshittin because he always used 2 pull our legs, and his innocent game playin caused the group 2 split up. So that anwsers my thinking 2 my self why has he been in IRC lately? You will be missed in these forums. Rest In Peace buddy.

Wow... This is a bit of a shocker to me, as I'm just reading and finding out about this now...I've not been on IRC at all much lately to know what's going on.
I knew Potent fairly well from the IRC channel for this site and I never figured this would take place at all... :(

I didn't know him personaly but I'm saddend to hear the news. To his family and close friends, my deepest sympathies.

No doubt to anybody, this truly is a shock.

I talked to him quite a bit but not recently. Sorry to hear the news. one of my old friends just killed himself last weekend, too much stress and not enough credits to graduate. I'm confident this is not a fake, if it was and was found out I think the boards would loose alot of members and that would not be a smart game to play. RIP
