EDIT - As far as 'oil' goes, there are other places to get it, starting with Alaska.

Unfortunately, over 50% of the oil in the world comes from the middle east. And it's been said that tapping our reserves in Alaska would do very little to the cost of gas at the pump, so tapping Alaska as a replacement for the OPEC nations wouldn't be wise. Offshore platforms are expensive, and there are limits to where they can be built. We are dependent on the Middle east.

I mention this once in the nick berg post and I will say it agian.... The violence will not stop and from this point I can assure you that we have not seen the last of this type or deal. Maybe I sound like a coward saying what i am about, but all this stuff is really scaring the fuck outta me! When Nick Berg was killed, he had No idea what was coming, no idea he was about to get his throat cut and his head cut off, what makes this worest in the Johnson case is the fact that this man most likely knew about the Nick berg thing, and probably knew what was going to happen to him, at least this time round we were spared a horrid video (though the sick sons of bitches did post pics of Johnsons headed body). Crap. I just remember hearing my History teacher ranting and raving about how we get so much oil from the Middle East, and I must've gotten my facts messed up. Sorry.
