First time a water starter looks like crap.

All of the starters look cool.

I think all the starters look cool. But the grass and fire starters are my favorite. Can't wait to see their final evolutions

I'm glad they're moving to full 3D. The cell shaded style looks good, for the monsters at least. Not sure about the people. The male protagonist looks awful.

The starters are... pretty bland. Not sure why people are going crazy for them. I want to like Froakie but they put nonsensical white shit all over him. Something just seems off about them... same complaints I had with Gen 5 though. Hopefully they evolve into something cool.

Really? I think it looks cool. My least favorite water starter was Mudkip. I didn't like its final evolution.

I herd u dont liek mudkipz. I thought Swampert was fucking awesome. Him and Blastoise were my favorite out of the final starter evolutions. Didn't like Feraliatr or Empoleon that much. Samurott (or Daikenki) was alright.

And I feel ya erik, I don't like the water starter that much in this one.

I like the Fox starter the best, and that Bird Legendary looks cool.

The fox looks very much like Zorua,
The Chital looks like the Spirit of the Forest from Princess Mononoke

The bird is the Y label, and the Chital Deer thing is the X label

The grass chipmunk starter, I'm thinkin grows into a hedgehog, porcupine or something pointy.

I am pretty excited, despite not really liking the starters. Maybe they'll grow on me, plus it really depends on what they evolve into. I also really like the first legendary.

I want to see the new old generation evolutions.

Someone on the Gamefaqs' Diamond or Black board, when they were still new, mentioned it'd be cool crossbreeding. The example they gave was Ponyta + Zebreaker = a Fire/Electric Mule/Ass (Azzt?) X/Y could be a genetic theme, after B/W Kyurem. Or coordinates...

Agreed! After the 5th Gen introduced so many Pokemon that should've been evolutions (Alomomola, Boufflant, Emolga, Maractus, Sigilyph, maybe Cryogonal [I thought Glalie evolved into it at first]). I'm just looking forward to a Banette evolution.

Considering Black & White was released in 2011, and X & Y are being released in October, it seems they aren't taking their time anymore.

A generation usually lasts four years. The 5th will now only last two. Furthermore, with all the advancements in game developments, you'd think the newer generations would look more like Pokemon Stadium by now.

This game could look a lot better, imo.

Names for the 2 main legendaries have been released. The Y shaped bird thing is called Yveltal while the X shaped deer thing is called Xerneas.

Can't wait for these. Liking that theyre going 3D. I just hope it doesn't make the battles tediously slow.

The starters.......hmmm. Not the best line up. I usually prefer the water over the grass over the fire starter. But I love the fire one this time. I just don't think we need another fire fox as we have the awesome Vulpix.
The grass one s men and eek I have a frog phobia so not a fan.

Love both legendaries, but prefer the stag/deer a little more.

Wonder what new evolutions we will have, I hope we get new eeveelutions.

I'd like to see some evolutions for Jynx and Pinsir.

Though I am in favor of it, actually the resemblance to New York is a coincidence, the Isshu/Unova region is still based on a real area of Japan.

Castelia City is based on New York.

The biggest hints are the city's five-pier harbor, based on NYC's harbor, and the Sky Arrow Bridge, based on the Brooklyn Bridge.

Of course, you also have Liberty Garden, which holds a lighthouse; this is most likely based on New York's Liberty Island, which holds the Statue of Libery, which in fact happens to be a lighthouse.

Me too, heh... Though I didn't find any of them to be that good looking. I like the fox, but it's face is pretty obnoxious. It seems like obnoxious is one of their favorite design qualities lately. The legendaries (I suppose?) look great though. I was not a fan of last generation's crotch rocket dragons.
